XAirports turns your iPad/iPhone into a 2nd monitor to use in conjunction with the flight simulator X-Plane.
The app comes with a database of all 35000 airports together with the associated ATC, VOR and ILS frequencies. Important flight parameters can be set during flight and sent via Wi-Fi to X-Plane, avoiding the need to memorize data or pause the simulator. Parameters that can be transmitted:
- COM and NAV frequencies (ATC, ILS, VOR)
- position of your aircraft on an airport (on a runway or 3/10 nm at approach)
- Auto-Pilot and Transponder settings (AUX in-App Purchase)
- Thrust, Flaps, Trims, Brakes, Landing gear (HUD in-App Purchase)
The app can also display a lot of flight parameters in real-time:
- interactive flight tracking of the player aircraft, up to 7 AI aircraft, all 34000 airports and 9000 VOR
- 1500 Navigation and SID/STAR charts (subject to online availability, internet connection required, AUX in-app purchase).

I only use this to pull up ILS codes so I can't comment on connection with sim. If this is fixed 5 startsEdit: iPad version seems to not have the crashing issue from the favorites list. I had issues getting it up and running. Amazing communication with seller. Wouldn’t stop assisting until it worked as advertised. Great app for X-plane. Frees up PC screens for other activities. Highly recommended.

If you are using X-Plane as your flight simulator on your Mac then this app is a must have! Really helps with navigation, ILS settings & radio frequencies. It has been a terrific help to me while using X-Plane. Great supplemental app!

- added ability to add custom overlays by manually entering the proper URL into "Preferences > Map > URL". Note: support requests regarding this URL are ignored. - fixed SkyVector not working. After a failed DMCA takedown request, they started blocking the app based on our unique user agent string. We're now using the user agent string from IE11 so we should be save for now, but expect the cat and mouse game to go on.

Known issue: On iOS 7, the mapviews will not properly react to pinch-to-zoom. This is a bug in iOS 7 and should be fixed by Apple in an update.
