School PA System provides a simple way to schedule school bells, announcements and other public address messages, directly from an iPad, iPhone or iPod (the app is now universal, meaning it can be used at native resolution on any iOS device).
Some of the great features that can save your school, church or group thousands of dollars include:
1. Scheduled bells (daily, weekly, weekends) that are fully customizable (time of day, etc). And bells of less than 30 seconds can now play in the background, even if the application is not active.
2. Select from a library of school bell sounds (get rid of your boring old tone generator today)
3. Add your own music selection directly from iTunes - why not start the day off with a fun song!
4. Select different themes / music / or bells for different times of the day or for different school events.
5. Pre-record your own public announcements, using the built-in voice recorder.
6. Make live announcements with our new Live Mic feature.
7. Create Emergency Signals and other messages that can be reused in specific situations.
School PA system will integrate easily with most existing installed PA Systems, or in smaller schools where an amplifier and speakers might be used. All you need is a dedicated iOS device connected to a power source and a TRS connector (also referred to as an audio jack, phone jack, headphone plug).
While this app has been designed specifically for schools, there's no reason why it couldn't be used in churches, groups, universities, at sporting events or even as a point of sale marketing tool. Because the app is flexible and configurable, it could be used in almost any situation where an existing PA system is being used.
School PA System is user-friendly and reliable. You can be confident that your bells or announcements will sound on time, all of the time.
NOTE: School PA System should not replace an emergency system in any school or organization. Please do not use this application in life-threatening situations.

I really like this app, it's almost perfect. I really wish there were more updated bell sounds to choose from, and maybe add more emergency alarms. Something, other than a bell, for a fire alarm option.

I love this app and have used it for years to keep my classroom running in time. I love having a 5 minute warning bell before the ‘real’ school bell rings. I would love to be able to select more than one day for a particular bell — currently you are restricted to either weekdays or one day a week. We have the same schedule on Mo, Tu, Th, and Fr. But a shorter schedule on We. This means I have to make 7 bells for each day.

This app was just what I needed to bring school bells to my small classroom without having to buy a full PA system. I could set the bells to ring whenever I wanted, I could add my own sounds, and it worked with notifications on my old iPad. My students liked the music, and they actually looked forward to class ending! It was just what I was looking for.

This app has tons of good features but 1 MAJOR drawback that need to be addressed by the designer. As a homeschooling mom, this has made a huge difference in our day. Pros: I love that I can set tons of bells. It is the only thing I found that could do that. It has been instrumental in keeping my homeschooled son and I on track with our day. It has been a game changer in his attitude about the day and my ability to focus on my to do list without getting off schedule. I am also able to link the bells with a song. Instead of telling my so. It's time for grammar, Weird Al's "Word Crimes" does the trick. He now comes to the table to do grammar in a good mood. Con: This app will only work if it is active. If I am surfing the web, the bell won't ring. If I am typing a text, the bell won't ring. If someone called and I forgot to close the phone app, the bell won't ring. If I sent an email and forgot to close the email app,.... You get the point. Major pain. Having paid a lot for this app, I am not happy. The bells should work while the app is working in the background. This app would be worth 5 starts for all it offers but since it only works 1/2 the time, I give it 2 stars. Fix this, and I will start telling all my friends about it.
This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included.
