This is such a pleasure to use. I just drag my pdf onto the icon in the dock and it immediately asks for what password I want to lock the file with. Can't get more efficient or more of a pleasure to use.

This should be #1 when you search for "password pdf" like I did. Exadctly what I needed for simply protecting a PDF.

Not what it's supposed to be

I wanted to make a pdf that is non-editable (i.e., the content cannot be changed). I can set the password all right, and it does prevent printing, but in my PdfExpert editor I could still modfify the text without a password. So, doesn't do what it was supposed to.

FIX: Fixed an issue where encrypting certain PDFs could cause text to display with incorrect characters. FIX: Fixed an issue where the Encrypt button might remain unavailable after changing encryption settings for an already processed file. FIX: Fixed an issue where files could not be saved or exported after changing settings and encrypting them again.
