My kindergartener has been having trouble learning to read. I downloaded a bunch of phonics apps to the iPad to find something that would make learning fun. This game stands out from the crowd. The developer of this app clearly has children because there aren't any "extra nonsense" that all other games/apps have. This is just the meat & potatoes! There is one quick screen of instruction (they could probably even be excluded) then one button to play the sound. Click on a letter, get it right - a funny monster laugh (that cracks my kids up). Get it wrong - nothing happens. My kids (5 & 3) both love this game and it's really helping them learn their phonics. Thank you! Make more apps like this!

My four year old likes this app but sometimes it's a bit confusing. For example, I wouldnt put both a c and a k on the same board because they both make the same basic sound.( as in cat and kitten) some of the vowels could use work on the pronunciation o says (as in octopus) I ( as in igloo) u ( as in umbrella) and a( as in apple) e ( as in excellent). That being said, it has a lot of potential, but could use an update to fix the things I mentioned.
