Moon phase and Moonrise reminders are included. Add estimated viewing opportunities with Sky Watch in Plus, based on your saved setup and available forecasts.
Plan your time under the sky with Live Sky. Explore planets, stars and deep-sky objects, save observing locations and viewpoints, and find useful opportunities for your setup.
MOON REMINDERS FOR EVERYONE
Set reminders for New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon or Last Quarter. Choose one or more phases, a reminder lead time, and once or every-cycle recurrence. Phase reminders use the calculated astronomical instant and need no observing location.
Choose a saved location for Moonrise reminders. See the calculated next rise, its local time and direction. Basic Moonrise works without a telescope, viewpoint or weather requirement. Actual visibility depends on your horizon and conditions. Moonrise and astronomical New Moon do not predict a first crescent sighting or determine religious dates.
SKY WATCH WITH LIVE SKY PLUS
Add an optional Sky Watch viewing opportunity to Moonrise, using your selected viewpoint and observing conditions. The basic reminder remains separate; equivalent occurrences are deduplicated. Sky Watch uses calculated sky positions and available forecasts, not live sky measurements or a visibility guarantee.
YOUR SKY, YOUR SETUP
Save the open sky around trees and rooftops. Add your telescope and accessories, or observe with the naked eye. Use favorites, viewpoints, darkness and weather context to plan. Best for my setup can follow relevant new saved items automatically; explicitly selected locations and viewpoints stay fixed.
EXPLORE AND PLAN
Browse planets, stars, galaxies, nebulae, clusters and sky events. Check coordinates and rise, transit and set times. Use Time Machine to explore the next 12 hours. Night Vision colors, Apple Watch and offline core sky calculations support your observing time.
FREE AND PLUS
Free includes one saved location, one viewpoint, three favorites, basic Moon reminders, and object alerts for up to three distinct targets plus one event alert. Calculated Today cards remain available independently of generated summaries. A personalized Today summary is available once every 12 hours.
The optional annual Live Sky Plus subscription adds Sky Watch, unlimited saved locations, viewpoints, favorites and alert targets, no ads, and a body-detail summary per object every 12 hours. Plus Today summaries are enabled automatically with the same 12-hour cadence. Existing Remove Ads purchases continue to remove ads without unlocking other Plus features. Your App Store shows the localized subscription price.
Weather, generated summaries and backend-powered alert synchronization require internet access. Forecasts and estimated viewing windows can change. No Live Sky account is required. App languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in App Store account settings.

So often I’ll look up to the sky and think “what is that bright object”. With this app you don't have to wonder. Just hold the app up to the sky facing the object and it will tell you everything.I especially love how it pointed put 5 visible planets tonight (including Earth).
Fantastic app!

This is one of those handy go to apps that you use 1 million times and you don’t know what you did without it! App is so reasonably priced, you don’t mind paying the mere pittance of the in-app purchase to remove the ads. Fantastic app!
Seems to get confused

I can see Saturn in the SSW right now and this app is saying it rises in 40 minutes. It's displaying my location correctly, so there's clearly something wrong. This morning the app said Venus was 10 degrees below the horizon when I was looking at it about 30 degrees above the horizon.Disappointing as I wanted to use the alt-az coordinates for Messier objects when I don't drag out my equatorial mount for observing.Perhaps it's pilot error and I have something set incorrectly. We'll see.
Love this app, best star chart ever

I use this app almost every week. It show me where all the sky objects I want to observe with no effort at all.Perfect companion for observing the sky with my telescope. I also use it to explain the night sky to my grand children.I love it's ease of use and accuracy
A refreshed observing feed, improved Sky Watch alerts and Moon reminders, observation journals, Siri shortcuts, configurable home-screen widgets, and new Apple Watch complications. Includes notification artwork, clearer times and better-timed review prompts.
