Practice songs at your own tempo. Loopster slows audio without changing pitch, sets loops and locators, saves playlists. Now Apple Silicon native.
Loopster plays back your audio files and lets you change playback speed independently of pitch - and vice versa - while preserving the best possible audio quality of the stretched and transposed result.
Plenty of apps do that. What sets Loopster apart is how you operate it.
While you practice or transcribe, you control Loopster with single keystrokes - instrument in your hands, one finger on the keyboard. No mouse, no scrolling sliders. Loopster was built by a working musician for the way musicians actually practice, and its clear, focused interface is what makes it stay out of your way.
You get the most out of Loopster when you use it as intended: keyboard-first. It is designed for practicing with an instrument in your hands and only a free finger to spare.

Hard to use

Despite being a computer geek, I couldn't easily figure out what should be a pretty simple and straight forward app. I found the developers website and Help page which taught me how to use it but I'm frustrated with how difficult it is to set loops. You can not zoom in on the wave file to spot the exact spot that bass line comes in or other such parts of songs and worse yet, you have to inch your way towards where you think it is with the keyboard and not know if you found the right place until you make the loop and play it. I would have rather given my $6 to the burrito place down the street. This makes me wish the App Store had a return policy that uninstalls and refunds.
works fine!

I took a risk buying this due to the bad reviews, but it does exactly what it says! Most software that changes speed without changing pitch is kinda expensive so this was actually a great deal!
Crashes

Easy to use. It worked on one song. When I tried to import a second song, it immediately crashed. Even deleting & reinstalling the app does not work.
Loopster 2.0 - Modernized for Today's Macs
A major update that brings Loopster to Apple Silicon and gives the app a fresh, modern look. Everything works the way you remember - only better.
What's new:
• Native Apple Silicon support - runs natively on M-series Macs, and stays fast on Intel down to macOS 10.13.
• Modern UI refresh - redesigned controls, clearer edit-mode contrast, refined typography throughout.
• Light & Dark mode - follows the macOS appearance automatically, or pick a fixed look in Preferences. Two new color palettes (Studio and Navy) let you choose what suits your eye.
• Offline Help - the complete guide is now bundled with the app. Open "Loopster Help" from the Help menu - no internet required.
• Smarter waveform - faster zoom and resize, cleaner rendering at every size.
• Picks up where you left off - remembers your last song, playlist, loops and locators across launches.
• Refined controls - Back-window button is now [Y] (was Return), slot keys behave reliably around empty slots, and the Settings icon sits within easy reach.
• Plus dozens of smaller polish fixes under the hood.
Thanks for practicing with Loopster!
