I’m a Second Grade Teacher and I used this app all the time, last year my students even used it with ease. It was so helpful in finding the AR level and number. It hasn’t worked yet, for the 2 1/2 months we’ve been at school. It keeps saying it can’t find the Accelerated Reader site, whether I’m using our schools network or my own personal network or any other network. It used to be great.*Revision two days later: I deleted the app and reinstalled it, as recommended by the developer. It’s working great now!!! I’m so thrilled. I took my rating from a 2-star to a 5-star!!

One easy step to try is to tap the ? in the top left of the main screen, then tap the "Reset Search String" button. Try scanning again to see if this helps. If not, please remove BookScanner and reinstall from the App Store. If you continue to experience search issues, please tap the "Email Support" button from the ? screen.

Update: reached out to developer via FB page. Quick response and quick fix. Thank you for your responsiveness. Excited to upload my personal library into the app. Thanks!Have had the app for about three days and it won’t connect to AR today. Was able to scan a few books using my iPad when I first downloaded the app and those didn’t transfer to the app on my iPhone. Disappointing to think I can’t switch between devices to scan the books into one database. Overall disappointed. Not worth the money.

I have identified the issue causing the error in BookScanner and this will automatically be updated on all copies of BookScanner within 24 hours. To force an update immediately, you can do the following: from the main screen, tap the ? icon in the top left, tap the Reset Search String button, and try to scan a book. I have mixed feelings about this app because it works effectively as described; but if you want the Lexile number, you have to pay an additional fee!!!I bought this app to locate the Lexile levels of books that aren’t already listed elsewhere. I’m an Asst. Librarian serving parents of school children, so I look up Lexile levels often. I can’t afford to pay this additional fee for every book!This rating would be 5 stars if I didn’t have to pay an additional fee for the Lexile numbers for the books.

We hear from many people that were interested in Lexile information, and that AR was starting to use these levels as well. We added the ability to add Lexile information for people who were interested in that as an addon to BookScanner.There is a small one-time purchase to unlock Lexile level information to cover the cost of adding this feature to BookScanner. This in-app purchase unlocks Lexile information for all books that you have scanned or will scan in the future. To be clear, this fee is not per book scanned/identified. After unlocking the Lexile information, you should automatically see this information displayed. For any book in your history scanner prior to unlocking Lexile information, please tap the Lexicon button for that book and it should be displayed quickly. If this doesn't work, or you have other questions, please email us for assistance help@ifthendev.com .
