iYinYang for iPad offers a Chinese zodiac birth-chart reading of the Animal, Element, and Elemental Animal signs.
Save a profile for yourself, a partner, friends, and family. A new install starts with five, and you can add as many as you need. Share any reading on a birthday or any other day, by Mail, Messages, or another app on your iPad.
Knowing the Animal and Element a person is born with helps you understand yourself and others. It can guide career and partner choices, and it helps you prepare for beneficial or difficult years.
The Chinese zodiac is a procession of twelve animals, each connected to a year. Those animals, together with the five elements (Water, Fire, Wood, Metal, and Earth), influence people born in their year. Each combination of element and animal returns once every sixty years.
iYinYang offers:
• a personal Animal sign reading
• a personal Element sign reading
• a personal Elemental Animal sign reading
• profiles for yourself, a spouse, friends, and family
• sharing for every reading
• the polarity (yin or yang), Chinese name, and characters of each Animal sign
• the planet, color, direction, and taste of each Element sign
• background on the Chinese zodiac
• beautiful graphics of the animals and elements
I really enjoy this application for the way in which it breaks down one's sign by element, animal, then the two combined. I think this works well to teach those of us who are still learning about the lunar zodiac of the East about the different aspects within each "sign."Also, I found it helpful that the developers made a point of differentiating between the Branch element and the element of the year under which one was born. I do think it would be nice to see an additional mention of which Branch each given animal falls under in its initial entry (maybe its picture could have a color related to its branch element in its initial picture, instead of them all being red?), as well as a mention of how the combination of the Branch & birth year elements get along.

Well done

It looks beautiful and it is entertaining to find out who has which animal and if the characteristics fit that person. Easy to use and gives a good amount of information. I haven't seen any other app that calculates the element sign, animal and the combination. Makes it more detailed.

Readings are easier to read, and you can save as many birth dates as you like.
