Good, but there is a problem

I purchased this app some time ago because I needed a tool to make minor corrections in photo orientation. I would receive images and when they were photographed, the image was not always aligned vertically. This app does an excellent job of making minor rotation corrections and it is generally very easy to use in spite of no published instruction manual. Yes, I am old school. This being said, the other day I wanted to make some corrections to an image, so I tried a few more features and made some changes to the photo. I wanted to retain the original photo, to I chose Save As… instead of Save, so I could pull up the original and make a side by side comparison. Well guess what? The original and the newly saved image were identical! WTH, I said under my breath! Fortunately, I was able to recover the original from an email message, but why have a “Save” or a “Save As…” option if the app is writing directly to the file and not allowing mods to a temp image? Sorry guys and gals, but this its really stupid! Every app I have on my Mac, whether it is a text document like Word, a spreadsheet like Excel, or anything else, allows me to save an image after I make changes. Could you imagine the horror if you had a complex spreadsheet, made some temporary changes, and found you couldn’t get the original sheet back?

Great Mac Paint utility

I am coming from MS paint on a PC to Mac. i was disapointed to find out that Mac has no paint equivalent - that you have to use a 3rd party program for this ability. I really liked the simplicity of paint. Paint Pro took some getting used to. there is a lot more capibility with it, i love the transparencies that paint doesn't have. i now give this 5/5 stars, couldn't live without it. and PC now has 3D paint which is worse than the MS paint i was used to. essential program - great for converting to and from pdf as well!
Great Editor with Easy to Use Features

Easy to make basic edits and adjustments to drawings and pictures. This is not Photoshop nor is it anywhere near the cost. It does exactly what I needed it to do and is well worth the price paid. Easy to remove backgrounds, sharpen images, adjust colors, and clean up scanned in sketches and illustrations. The layers function makes keeping track of changes and undoing strokes easy. I really like the fill sensitivity feature that allows clean fills of complex profiles and edges - simple but effective and very useful.
Easy to Use And Works Well With Pieces from Other Apps

Very easy to use, layers and all and worth all 5 stars. It does everything but transform shapes (stretch, shrink, curve, symmetries and other geometric possibilities), and I miss the ability of a magic wand that can automatically select a color throughout the artwork so I can change or adjust the color (and experiment): dragging the selection tool is insufficient for what I want to do, as it grabs huge areas. I have other, fairly complex art apps, but this ine stays in the dock as my go-to program
