I just started using this app. I did buy another app and am a bit sorry. While it was only $4, so far I like this app better. It's just that the other app had so many good reviews. But it did not have a free version like this. This app sounds better and has a richer tone. I think they should give you at least 32 beats with the free version then you can test it out properly. But they do offer it to you if you rate the app. I gave it a 4 star for that reason. Also, you can try it out enough to understand if it what you want. Give it a try!
Good or not?

Off the bat, I dug the tone. It has good bottom, good thump. Then I started looking at what it does. Started with the tempo, then went to the groove and added some more kick and then... a message came up for me to upgrade to paid version (me having the "lite" version). Or... write a review and upgrade to 48 continuous bars. Turns out that the "lite" version only has 32 "continuous" bars. I quote "continuous" because I thought that meant "continuous", as in a loop. But they mean "continuous" as in one bar to the next continuously until you get to the last bar (#32) and then you get a pop up message to upgrade. There isn't a loop button. Although it counts bars, you can't have different bars play different beats. As a lite version, it's useless to me. Lite is just a test drive. I don't think it's worth paying a dollar for, but then I can't test the full version to know. The little they let me try now could be sufficient to have a good sounding tempo to jam from. But it doesn't loop. There is a way to make it loop but it doesn't work in lite so I can't test it and loop is just one of a few options. I don't need anything complex because I just need a metronome that can inspire me. And I think THIS simple should be free. This is a basic drum machine with supposedly useful option (but I wouldn't know because I can't test them). I don't think a paid for version is worth it as basic as this app is. If the full version was free, I'd rate it 5 stars because, as a simple app goes, its pretty useful.
Sound is all

Hey so this metronome ain’t so simple and might take a minute or twelve to figure out, but meanwhile just check out the sound. Listen. It sounds pretty dope, yes? This sound quality makes up for the limitations of use. Very accurate tonal quality for a thing that could just go tick rock. Rock it out but in time! Timing is great to have, like imagine if we bought Apple stock way back when? Meanwhile playing music is where it’s at and this app helps. Even if manuals are rare.
How many metronomes do you need?

Apparently more. I just downloaded this one from From the advice of a friend. So far so good. I haven’t really dug into it yet, my DAW has a simple one that I use, but I can see where this could be more fun when practicing. The UI looks sharp and seems fairly intuitive. I did see a groove button, not sure yet what that is all about but I’m guess you can add some swing to your loop. I’m all about feel and swing but that defeats the purpose of a metronome. Still a cool app. Thanks for making a free version.
