It's pretty ridiculous that Mac OS X doesn't have the ability to use a GUI to create a password-protected zip file. So this application is necessary. Sure, I can laboriously fiddle around in the Terminal and do the same thing, but why? Why fuss with a typo that makes you start all over again when you can just have a simple app that puts the task reliably into a graphical user interface?In a world where we have to send files to Windoze users this is useful. This is a good workaround when your recipient's IT department doesn't allow iCloud sharing links to be used. Stupid, I know, but that's what happened to me and what prompted me to use this relatively old-school way of sending files securely. Apple is so far ahead of the majority of computer users and IT departments, it's amazing. It's like aking people using papyrus to receive a fax - not going to happen. So you're forced to use a message written with ink and quil sent by a guy riding a horse. Or you can send a link using iCloud.Whatever.

I looked on line and found information about how to password protect a ZIP on Mac OS X. None of those methods worked and it was easily worth the price of this app to not hassle with it. Worked. Was simple and saved me time and hassle.
