Dry Fire Timer is the only dry fire trainer with standalone Apple Watch, pause & resume, fully customizable sounds, and drill sharing — features you won't find anywhere else. 23 built-in competition drills. Progress charts. One-time purchase.
APPLE WATCH — STANDALONE
Run drills from your wrist without your phone. Browse by category, start with one tap, feel haptic signals — Stand By tap, Go buzz, Par Time pulse. Logs sync back to iPhone automatically.
PAUSE & RESUME MID-DRILL
Paused on rep 23 of 50? Resume from rep 24. Your session isn't lost because life interrupted.
CUSTOMIZABLE SOUNDS
4 presets — Default, Tactical, Soft, Classic — or build your own. Assign a different tone to each of the 5 signals from 8 tone types. Preview before you train.
EXPORT & IMPORT DRILLS
Share your entire training program. Export drills as JSON, send to your squad via AirDrop or text. They import and run your exact drills with your exact par times.
TRAINING LOG & PROGRESS CHARTS
Every session logged with time, par times, notes, and target photos. Charts track your improvement over weeks. Export logs as CSV with photos for your coach.
DRILL LIBRARY
23 built-in competition drills — Core, Match, and all 8 Steel Challenge stages. Build unlimited custom drills with multiple strings and individual par times per string.
PAR SHIFT
One tap shifts every par time across all strings by 1/100s. Tiny increments that compound into real speed. Perfect for Steve Anderson's "Refinement and Repetition."
PRECISION TIMER
Hardware-scheduled beeps — millisecond accuracy. Random or fixed start delay. Visual flash signals work with ear pro. AirPods and Bluetooth speaker support.
No subscriptions. No ads. No account. Works offline. On the App Store since 2013.
So I love this app, works great for dry fire practice. Only thing I'm wondering is why it's so expensive for such a simple cut and dry app. Please add some features to make it worth the price. At the moment it feels like it should cost $0.99. The ability to drag and drop stings would be nice, let's say I want to add a new string to the BEGINNING of the drill. Right now that requires making a new string at the END of the drill and then changing the repetition and par time for every other string before it in the list. Also, some way to sync or export/import drills would be nice. Would be a hassle to rebuild a long list of drills when buying a new phone for example. Would be great to import training drills from other users as well. Honestly, for $8.99, I feel this app is missing features. Again, it works great, it's just so simple that it should be much cheaper. I mean, it doesn't even double as an actual live fire timer, come pre loaded with popular drills, or have any features of the like.
Awful Update
SilverSins
The new update is awful. First it deleted all my saved drills from the previous version, with no warning. Now it quits immediately on launch, I’ll probably have to delete the save data, along with all my drills that I had to recreate, if I want to run it again. On top of that, the stupid save screen that now comes after every drill is an annoyance.Find another timer app, this is a guaranteed disappointment.
Very customizable. Needs pause.
Sdlrodeo
I like this app. It does almost everything I need it to do. Except PAUSE!Once you start a drill, if you stop, you have to start all over again. Allowing to set the number of reps, reset time, progressive reduction in par times all great. Just need the pause option.
Simple and Effective
paairedale
This app does not come with a lot of features but it is simple and effective and does what I needed to do. You can easily make new drills and save them. Each drill consists of a number of strings and each string has a number for a repetitions. For each string you set the par time. With a simple click of a button you can adjust all the par times in the drill as you improve. Each drill is saved using the par times you have set. This app is easier to use for dry fire practice then a shot timer. I recommend it.
