This update focuses on printing fixes that include the following: - Previously, attempting to reprint a badge directly from the visit log did nothing. The web app reported that the badge was printing, but no label came out, and the iPad showed no error. This resulted in a subpar user experience. Printing a group of badges and printing a badge for a contactless check-in were affected in the same way. But now, all three print as expected. If something does go wrong, for example, the printer being switched off, the iPad now shows a print error instead of staying silent. If by chance there's a group of badges and only one badge print reports one error, it'll display which one vs one error for every person on the list. - Opening Settings and then Printer, or tapping Refresh on that screen, could freeze the iPad for a few seconds. The reason for this is that the app was searching the whole network to confirm that the printer was switched on. Now, it asks the printer that you have already set up, at its own address, which is much quicker and does not freeze the screen. When the printer is switched off, the screen now tells you within a few seconds instead of taking minutes. - Searching the network for printers moved to a new "Scan for Printers" option on that same screen. Search only runs when you are actually adding a printer. A printer that has been turned on for the location but not chosen yet now shows "Not Selected" and points you to that option, instead of reporting the printer as missing. This was the most frequent crash reported from iPads by customers, so moving forward, kiosks should have fewer crashes with this specific issue. - After a visitor left the agreement (NDA) screen, an on-screen animation could keep running invisibly in the background. Over time this made the app feel sluggish, warmed the iPad up, and drained the battery faster than expected. The animation now stops as soon as the visitor leaves the screen. - The same problem existed with the notification, badge download, and badge printing animations when a check-in was interrupted. For example, if the visitor timed out or the network dropped midway. These animations now stop when their screen closes, so the app keeps running smoothly without disruption. - If the iPad was left idle and the app was sent to the background, coming back could land on the sign-in screen even though the location was still signed in, which looked as though the iPad had logged itself out. The app now returns to the visitor screens as expected. - Printer connection messages are much clearer. When connecting a printer by typing its IP address, the app now tells you whether it could not find the printer at that address (check the address and that the printer is on the same network) or whether it found the printer but the printer is not set up to answer, and in that case it walks you through the exact setting to turn on in the printer's own web page. - A failed attempt to connect a printer no longer clears the printer you already had set up, so a single typo cannot leave a working kiosk without a printer. - The printer warning shown when the app starts up could appear even when the printer was normally functioning, because the check ran before Wi Fi had finished connecting. The app now attempts to check a second time before showing the warning. - When a printer does not connect, the app now sends us the technical details automatically to support. Then our support team can pinpoint the cause much faster instead of asking you to gather information by hand to then send back to support.

A QL-810W could be shown and set up as a QL-820NWB, which stopped badges from printing. The app now uses the model the printer itself reports, including when a printer is connected by typing its IP address, so the correct printer settings are used and badge printing works as expected. Selecting a printer that has just been found also shows as connected right away, instead of showing "Not Found" until the screen is reopened. - Saving settings from a screen where printer details were not loaded, such as choosing a location while signing in, could silently clear the iPad's saved printer. Printer details are now only reported when a printer is actually set up, so a configured printer stays configured.
