Brown Water Banter is the one tap before you leave the house. Tides, wind, water temp, radar, bait, and limits — the things you check standing in the driveway with the boat already hitched.
CONDITIONS, RIGHT NOW
A live instrument panel reading off NOAA and the National Weather Service. Today's tide curve with a marker showing where you are on it, current water level and direction, wind speed and bearing, water temperature, and the forecast sea state. Every reading is stamped with when it was observed — not when we checked.
RADAR
The last two hours of observed radar over the Mississippi Sound, looping. Observed only, nothing predicted.
BAIT SHOPS
Every bait shop we know of on the coast, listed west to east, with phone numbers you can tap to call and addresses that open in maps. Shops in our text-in program report what's in the tanks that morning, so you can see who has live shrimp before you drive.

Current Mississippi saltwater regulations — what you can keep, how many, and how big — pulled from the Department of Marine Resources.
