Sadly doesn’t live up to the Nord name

I’ve used other Nord products in the past like their VPN, which I loved. The app is inconsistent across different platforms and even browsers. The app works flawlessly 99% on my iPhone, wish that same user experience was replicated on my Mac, even more so when it comes to the Safari extension. On Safari, I constantly have to refresh webpages so the NordPass icon appears in fields to autofill. Sometimes on the same website it will be in all fields and other times some, and other times none; it’s all over the place. I’ve also noticed in Safari I have to manually search for a password instead of NordPass automatically giving me options to click to login. I also use their extension on my Brave browser, and while it’s not flawless it works much better than in Safari. For example, when I try to login into United Healthcare I have to manually search for UHC in Safari, where in Brave it “knows” that UHC is an option, and presents it a choice for me to click to autofill. Prompting is also an issue on Safari, as well as Brave (which is better though) when creating accounts. Most of the time the Brave extension prompts you to create a secure password, and asks if you want to save after logging in. Safari doesn’t do this half time. If it worked as smooth on Mac like it does on iOS, I’d give it 5 stars. Why even come out with an app for Mac if you can’t design a reliable extension to work for its native browser? Come on Nord, get back to the drawing board on this one.

Hello there. We're sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced on your macOS device! That sounds really frustrating. Perhaps you could try reinstalling our extension on the Safari browser to check if the matter persists? If it does, do not hesitate to contact our support team for further assistance at support.nordpass.com.
No Touch ID in Safari

I switched to NordPass from LastPass due to the data breaches and service interruptions LastPass was having and frustrations with its autofilling. When I switched to NordPass, I used Windows-based PCs mostly but also use an iPhone so, I wanted a tool that worked on both platforms. The switchover to NordPass was relatively painless. In comparison, I think NordPass is a relatively decent password manager, although I have similar issues with its autofill. I’ve had several issues with not finding passwords for sites and consistent issues with autofilling credit card information. My biggest frustration occurred recently after getting a Mac. My MacBook Pro has a biometric sensor that allows you to login with your fingerprint. The Safari NordPass extension doesn’t allow the use of the feature to login or enable the extension. You must use your master password to login each time you need to enable the service. This may actually be a deal killer for me. So, I’m now on a quest to find the best reliable password manager that across all platforms unless NordPass can upgrade their apps.

Hi there, thanks for sharing this detailed experience. We understand how frustrating it is to use the master password each time. We’ve shared your Touch ID request with our product team. For autofill issues, please contact us via live chat: https://support.nordpass.com/.
I hate this thing
AckieAckie
I switched from LastPass d/t the breach. NordPass requires me to enter my master password every time I restart my computer - which is appropriate - however I'm also required to enter it time I open a browser, even if I accidentally closed browser and immediately reopened it. Sometimes NordPass accepts touch ID in lieu of the master password. Sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time it works as expected on Chrome. Sometimes it doesn't. NordPass never works on Firefox (extension installed and reinstalled) so I need to search for the login on NordPass' stand alone app, copy it, and then paste it into the login on Firefox. If the standalone app isn't already open I have to enter the master password unless NordPass offers me the TouchID option. What annoys me the most is that every time I do log onto a site, a NordPass window pops up asking me if I want to save the password.... not a new password but the correct password NordPass just entered into the login. I never do because... NordPass just entered it into the login. If I want to save it, I would have to enter it manually because NordPass doesn't autofill it. Either way, I have to close the pop up window.... every single time. The same issues occur on the iPhone however facial recognition makes it far more tolerable but it still requires additional steps. Since I installed NordPass I have not logged onto a single site without have to perform at least one additional step. None of these issues occurred with LastPass and I regret switching.
Not an actual desktop application
Carosaurrampage
As someone else mentioned, when you install this application, it isn’t a real desktop application. When I launch it, it just mentions a Safari extension. I don’t use Safari. I see that Nord replied to the other review insisting there is a desktop application. How can that be? Is Nord not keeping up with new Macs? The application worked on my MacBook Air from late 2015, but it’s the Safari extension only on my MacBook Air from 2026. When I tried to launch the NordPass application I brought over from Time Machine, I get a message from my laptop that I need to install Rosetta to run Intel applications. Maybe I will do that instead, or maybe I’ll give up on using a desktop application. Nord, please clarify in your response whether there’s a desktop application for new Mac users. There doesn’t seem to be.
Building good things takes time. So since the last release, we've mainly focused on catching and eliminating pesky bugs.
