Decent, but could use improvement

While using Hunch, I experienced several things. When using the like or “waves” feature to try and match with other users, I dealt with constant advertisement where the “Hunch+” feature was shown regardless of me previously pressing the X button to get rid of the pop up. It was very annoying however there are other positives to this app, that was really the only negative I had with it. I enjoy that the app asks for price ranges, availability, and various other things as it allows for people to have dates setup for them accordingly based off what they selected during profile creation. It was refreshing to see on a dating app. Although that was refreshing, it feels as if there are several fake profiles within the app as some of them have the same bio on countless profiles making it feel as if they’re drawing in people without actually having authenticity be present. Had it felt like the profiles were more realistic, I would give this five stars, but this is why I am giving it four.

I tried this app because I was sick of all the other same old apps, I really hoped this one would be the game changer, nope. I downloaded the app, created an account just fine and liked that it asked a lot of questions about me to figure out my personality, good start. Then about an hour later the whole app crashed, couldn’t log in for about 12 hours. The crashes still happen but seem a little less frequent. I ended up subscribing to the paid service, I set my max range to 100 miles, but noticed all of the pictures of every single profile had unrecognizable city scapes, foreign signs, lots of Asian girls that were actually in Asia. I seem to be matching with every other state/country except my local area. After a couple days of trying it I did not match with ONE local girl and the only actual girl that I did match with was across the US. This app is a scam, they don’t deliver what they promised, the filters don’t filter and I have a strong suspicion that most if not more of the profiles are fake/AI generated to make it seem there are more than there actually are. I tried contacting customer support through their support chat and was completely ignored. Do not waste your time with this app and definitely do not give them one cent of your hard earned money.

The app shouldn’t be crashing like that, and if it’s happening repeatedly, we really want to fix that for you. On the distance part, sometimes profiles slightly outside your filters may appear if there are fewer people matching your exact preferences, but you should still be seeing people relatively near you, not only very far away. Genuinely love the concept of this app, but the personality test at the beginning is so short that it never gives actual accurate results. It doesn’t let you retake it or select your ACTUAL personality test after you’ve already done it, and I have no desire to use a dating app where my personality is misrepresented. I’ve taken the real Myers Briggs test several times over the years and I have always gotten the exact same result consistently. Yet when I answer honestly in the app, it’s completely dead wrong. I don’t want to have to lie about my answers in order to get actual real results. I haven’t even had the chance to enjoy the app because I immediately felt misunderstood and misrepresented and lost any interest to continue. Please fix this! Give an option to just SELECT your MBTI or come up with your own personality analysis system for the app that isn’t just an inaccurate MBTI if you can’t make the test itself more accurate and thorough.

Im starting to see a trend on this app. Im not really sure if it’s true and I tried looking at reviews to see if anyone else was noticing the same thing. It’s an okay app overall. I like it. It has really good qualities and has a lot of room for improvement and I think it can’t become a great app. However, I’ve noticed a lot of profiles are VERY similar. Though every name is different and the faces and hair are different, they are weirdly similar in a way. Most of these profiles have the same views, same beliefs, and similar jobs. The most weird thing for me is that these profiles have pictures that are VERY similar in angles, colors, backgrounds, and settings. Not only that, but each one has like 3-4 pictures and no more or less than that. I’ve noticed them so frequently. I’m not sure if these are AI profiles the developers are putting into the app or they’re allowing bots into the app which would be a huge turnoff for using the app in general. If they really want their app to succeed. There should definitely be absolutely no bots allowed ever into the app. I certainly wouldn’t use an app that is full of bots or AI generated profiles.
