PlayTales plays the audio plays and audiobooks on Apple Music in a way kids can manage on their own – while you still decide how long they listen. The stories themselves need an Apple Music subscription.
WHAT PLAYTALES DOES FOR YOUR FAMILY
• Peace and quiet on the back seat: with no signal, PlayTales shows and plays whatever Apple Music has downloaded, and with CarPlay, favourites and recently played sit right on the car's screen. (Offline view and CarPlay with Pro)
• Bedtime without anyone getting up: the sleep timer stops the story after 5 to 60 minutes – or right at the end of the episode.
• You decide how long: daily and weekly limits, guarded by your PIN. For long car journeys there's “ten more minutes” or “no limit today”.
• Kids listen on their own: big, colourful covers instead of menus, and PlayTales can read the titles aloud – even for kids who can't read yet.
• Pick up where they left off: to the second, and through iCloud from iPhone to iPad.
• And when the story ends? Stop, repeat or play the next album – your choice.
• Nothing to get lost in: search can be switched off, and the settings sit behind your PIN or a math task.
• “Play … in PlayTales”: with Siri, Shortcuts or straight from Spotlight search.

A one-time purchase, not a subscription: unlimited favourites (three without Pro), CarPlay, the offline view and no adverts. Parental controls are included for everyone at no extra cost.

No account, no sign-in. How long your child listens is counted on the device only and never sent anywhere.

• Limit listening time: Set how long may be listened to per day or per week. Only actual listening counts.
• A PIN instead of a math task: Guard the settings with a PIN of your own. Forgotten it? A math task gets you back in.
• Ten more minutes, or no limit today: When time is up, a parent can extend right away — until midnight for long car journeys. In CarPlay the limits don't apply at all.
• Also: favourites, the mini player and the settings respond more reliably.
