I like the game a lot but it has certain major flaws. Starting with the pros! The augmented reality is amazing. You can throw a ball and it will bounce off a wall or an object on your floor and looks pretty convincing. When you forage the AR does a solid job recognizing the terrain you are on. The dots themselves are very cute and fun to raise. I enjoy how the game encourages consistent play without punishing you for forgetting about your dots (Sorry little guys) for a few days. I’m looking forward to seeing how this game evolves because there is a lot of potential with such a solid base. Now to the major and game breaking negative in my opinion. Yes, the game needs to make money, I get that. You spend around 3 days raising your dot. Which is fun and they are quite cute. However, you need a nest to breed a new dot which is a major mechanic. That is the only way you can begin to get more unique looking dots. Problem is, you need to spend 5 dollars to get the new dots. So at a certain point unless you spend money you can’t progress. Also, when you breed them their looks are randomized. You can use an in game currency to re do I’m your dots but you can only get so many traits without more breeding. Having the major game play mechanic behind a 5 dollar pay wall is incredibly frustrating. I have a hard time justifying paying 5 dollars repeatedly to breed more dots without knowing how they will turn out. And without breeding, I don’t have any reason to play.

Ok so the story of how I ended up getting this AMAZING game is I was scrolling on TikTok whenever I saw the ad for peridot. Now keep in mind I had seen the ads and people playing with theirs ALL over TikTok it was like my 27th time seeing it. So I became tired of seeing it and everyone saying it was so fun so I downloaded it. ITS AMAZING!!! You get to pick an egg out of three now here’s a Peridot hack whatever egg you pick is the pattern your dot/peridot will be. I choose a tan egg with some orange spots, that’s what mines pattern is. She is SO CUTE I’m emotionally attached to her. If I ever lost her I would literally cry my eyes out. This is a great game if you love tamagotchi’s but instead you can bring them anywhere, they can forage for food, they cannot die, they don’t make loud beeping sounds or blow up your phone, you can take pictures or videos of them, you can interact with them like petting them, and wherever you are they can be there with you. This is also good if you love taking care of things but don’t like hearing them cry or scream or blow up your phone. I would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND getting this app. Though there is one thing, you have to pay to get a nest for your peridot/dot you get one free one which is nice but otherwise please make the best free or at least less money. For anyone wondering my peridot/dots name is Pumpkin. Sorry for the long review I had a lot to say. PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU MADE PERIDOT AND IF YOUR LOOKING TO BUY THE APP!!! Bye y’all ✌️

This game would be really successful if the audience didn’t have to pay $5 for a single nest to hatch eggs. Paying for nests is fine, but there are people who play casually and don’t want to spend a large amount of money. If it was $5 for a pack of nests that would be great. And it would be even better if you earned nests on some sort of daily timer. Like 1 nest every 12 hrs for casual players. You’re always going to have players willing to pay, but if you want to grow your audience past hardcore players, then you need to lower the pay to play aspect. There should be a better balance. For people trying to hatch 50 eggs and breed for certain traits, yeah they’re going to pay. But there is an entire audience of children and teens willing to play this game but have no way to pay for nests, or gems to pay for Sundrops. Just change the balance up. You won’t lose your audience within the first day of playing if you just make it more financially accessible. I personally spend money on this game because I enjoy breeding for specific traits, and I am an adult so I have the means. But my 13 year old cousin stopped playing because she can’t enjoy the feeling of hatching a new egg and collecting new Dots. Just listen to your audience. This game would be super marketable if the comments under every video and post related weren’t negative because of the pay wall.
