Indie Town is the free, invite-only international community of independent bands and artists, connecting DIY music scenes everywhere. It's where bands meet and put tours together. It’s where artists, videographers, and independent labels share their original music and art with friends. But they don’t have to pay to beat the algorithm that’s pushing our creations down.
Here’s what you can do on Indie Town:
- Build your community of fellow independent bands and artists.
- Search for bands, artists, DIY venues, and more by location, genre, and name. Filter your searches by ‘friends of friends’ and artist category.
- Easily create your own music and video playlists without uploading files. Just use links to your existing songs, albums and playlists on Spotify, YouTube, Bandcamp, and SoundCloud.
- Share your music, videos, shows, and thoughts on life with the entire Indie Town community.
- Listen to artists’ music, watch their videos and view their photos.
- Make new friends and message each other.
- Find local bands in new cities to plan better tours and organize show trades.
- Find scene supporters in new towns who may offer you a place to crash after the show.
- Browse your feed to find people, music, shows, and art that you find interesting.
- Go beyond the basic genres and connect with dream pop, lo-fi bedroom rap, and post-punk artists.
- Support your friends by liking and commenting on their posts and shows.
- Invite your friends to build the only DIY-rooted, artist-focused community anywhere.

Finally someone has developed an app to replace what we lost when MySpace changed their format several years ago. I love how IndieTown makes it easy for me to find other bands in my area and let’s me listen to them without ever leaving the app. Setting up shows and collaborating with like minded bands is going to be much easier now and will keep me away from the toxic dump that Facebook has become. I really look forward to being apart of the community as it grows as all of us DIY musicians benefit together. Soooo Indie!!!!

Indie Town has unlimited potential to strengthen the community of DIY artists across the country. It’s fun and easy to use. Setting up your profile is quick, and it’s a great database for all of your touring-related resources. Your own profile almost functions as an EPK itself, making it easy to connect with similar artists across the country. I can’t wait to see Indie Town in full force!

Great app for DIY and independent musicians/bands! The inclusive environment inspires you to promote yourself as well as other local bands. The style of the app allows you to easily connect with bands in areas you’re looking to tour. I’ve found a lot of great smaller acts through Indie Town that are all over my playlists! Easy to navigate whether promoting your new music or an upcoming show. Would definitely recommend!
