It’s a good sign when my only complaints are quality of life improvements. The game is fast paced but with a good strategic depth (especially love the tension raise of entering a sudden death round on a tie). The locations and cards all have lore bits right up the alley of any long term fan of VtM. I do wish you could choose the colour of the deck boxes. And also I am confused by the location timer. One location always has a countdown, but when it hits zero sometimes the countdown just hits a different location and sometimes a location does swap out but not with the one that had the countdown. So I’m just not sure what’s going on with that.

Pleasantly surprised by this game. They nailed the vibe, and the unique characters and their stories are interesting. It’s similar to some other card games, and unlocking new ones isn’t too difficult. Many different play styles and combos to explore as well. It’s a great game to just pick up and get in some quick battles. The community has been helpful and friendly too. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to scratch that vampire itch.

As others have stated it’s similar to Marvel Snap, but I enjoyed the art style and thematic elements of the clans added to game play. Then we get to the issues that steal any fun the game has. You start off playing against (what I’m assuming are) bot decks that get repetitive but at least it lets you try some new deck combinations. Then as soon as you get into higher levels you’re against decks that have all red-backed foil cards, including every high end card you can get. You lose that game and try again. Same account, different profile picture or title, another maxed out deck with preternatural combinations. Before giving up I lost count of how many times in a row my opponent had the perfect opening hand, perfect set up, the perfect cards for a specific board, etc. if I switched my deck, I played against a deck that had the perfect foil for what I’d made. I know it feels like I’m just being a sore loser, but losing a match on turn 3, with literally zero paths to coming back gets old. Between this and BL2 (which is ok, just not Bloodlines) the VtM game scene is a poor representation of the IP.

So far a lot of fun. It’s quick and so losing doesn’t feel like that big of a deal and there’s always fun tactical combinations revealing themselves during the game. My only concern is if this game has the legs to keep getting played by the next season.
