I never played the original. The arcade version is amazing though. I’ve worked my way up to my favorite team and led them through several retro bowl wins. Ive had fun growing players drafting and hiring coaches. Even making mistakes to learn from like cutting a QB for a better one only to find that he out throws my WRs lol. The only thing I dislike is the sim game function. It’s nice to be able to speed things up a bit. But it seems fairly broken. It’s basically just a RNG because it doesn’t seem to take team ratings Into account at all. I have a 5 star team. Both offense and defense. My players are mostly all 5 star. 9/10 times I will loose dramatically to teams who’s offense is 3 stars lower than my D. Like 30-0 kinda loss. It makes the feature un usable because you’re very likely to loose to a team you would probably beat otherwise.

so this is 5 stars for lots of reasons, one because its so entertaining and if its too easy just change the difficulty. Two is that you literally start off as a 1-15 record but then you work your way up to the best team in the league, its just insanely fun, and you also are allowed to trade players, sign people and also change the weather to snow rain or other stuff, you can also kick return and thats pretty good and also pretty cool, it can also be fun because there’s a exbiition mode or whatever it’s called makes it WAAAAY funner. ofc its not head to head against real people but it can still be fun, basically what I do is that i pick random teams and i play them both, if your new you need to try thst game mode it makes the game way more exciting and challenging. It’s also kind of cool thst the defense just swats the ball and the wide receiver just catches it while it’s up, that’s pretty cool and the hurdles and stiff arm is cool. you also can juke literally everyone, lol. But of course its not the best game ever, something they should do is add a career mode, I think thst would make people want to play it EVEN MORE, it would also be excited if you know your in the hall of fame,there should also be challenges and flags, that would be interesting. But it does have some bugs so its not completely 5 stars. Overall, this is a great game but i hope they add some more

so this is 5 stars for lots of reasons, one because its so entertaining and if its too easy just change the difficulty. Two is that you literally start off as a 1-15 record but then you work your way up to the best team in the league, its just insanely fun, and you also are allowed to trade players, sign people and also change the weather to snow rain or other stuff, you can also kick return and thats pretty good and also pretty cool, it can also be fun because there’s a exbiition mode or whatever it’s called makes it WAAAAY funner. ofc its not head to head against real people but it can still be fun, basically what I do is that i pick random teams and i play them both, if your new you need to try thst game mode it makes the game way more exciting and challenging. Fun but difficulty settings are a big problem

The basic gameplay is fun and extremely addicting. The problem is the way the difficulty settings work. It’s something like this: Easy: Trivial. Once you know the game you’ll never lose. Medium: Slightly harder than trivial. You will occasionally lose a game, but still feels like the challenge is lacking. Hard: Your defense barely ever stops anyone, regardless of the opponent’s offense rating. You constantly throw interceptions and fumble the ball. You struggle to win 5-6 games per season and never get anywhere. Your players don’t improve very much because all you seem to do is throw interceptions and fumble. Extreme: Never tried this. Why would I, considering how Hard works out? Dynamic: You win until the difficulty ramps up into the “constant interceptions” category. Then you lose a game or two, then the difficulty comes down and you win 1-3 games until it goes back up again. What’s most frustrating about this is that your wins and loses seem to have nothing to do with the ratings of your opponents. So you cobble together winning seasons, but then struggle to go deep in the playoffs because of the difficulty ramping up. So basically, there is no comfortable challenge level. It’s either too easy or impossible. This makes the game hard to recommend once the novelty wears off. They need a way to make the game harder without just forcing your QB to throw picks. Make it harder to get yards, harder to get first downs, instead of impossible to complete a pass at all.

Great game but a few suggestions

I love this game it’s so fun but I have a suggestion to make it better. PLEASE ADD A CAREER MODE WHERE YOU PLAY AS A PLAYER. I really want this to be added cuz it would be so cool. Also can you make it so I can sub in someone mid game cuz that would be good. Other teams should also have timeouts to make it fair and you should be able to have infinite star players as long as the salary cap allows it. And players should be able to get injured on the field for a better experience. Also, I feel like dynamic, the hardest difficulty, is too easy, so it would be a lot more fun if there were more and harder difficulties. My defense never gets safeties, which I take to mean that safeties aren’t a thing, so if that could be made possible that would be fun. And sometimes It’s 4th down and I’m out of my kicker’s field goal range but I’m forced to either go for it or kick it, so if I were able to punt it in that scenario that would also be good. Also, if I do really terrible over the course of a few seasons, i should be able to get fired because it really puts a sense of urgency on the player. I’m really sorry, that’s a lot of suggestions, but PLEASE ADD THATTTTTTTTTT. Thx :)
