Really awesome and surprisingly non-gimmicky

I bought this app mainly because I like the aesthetics of the website and app, and thought the concept sounded fun to mess around with for at least a little bit, but assumed I probably wouldn’t really use it long term.After using it for a bit, I realized that it was making me want to work and type more due to how pleasant it was, and it got me back into my hobby of weird custom keyboards because of how much they impact the “enjoyability” of your work. I’ve gotten really into weird split ergo-mechanical keyboards, and my focus is now entirely on feel / layout because I can just use Klack for the sound aspect, and just change settings when I get tired of a particular sound, instead of swapping all my switches or entire keyboard. Now I have this dead-silent tiny split keyboard that I can use in the library (look into the Chocofi / Temper if you’re into that sort of thing), and just turn on Klack whenever I want more feedback.Also the developer is really cool and responsive, he very quickly responds to any bug reports (which usually already has a pending fix) and my nerdy interest in various aspects of the app and side projects in general. 5 stars!

…and I “hate” how much I love it. I don't even like mechanical keyboards, but there's always been something about the MacBook Pro's keyboard that feels off. Somehow typing on a MacBook Air feels better than typing on the Pro. Even Apple’s separate Magic Keyboard feels better to type on, even though it's virtually the same. Maybe it's the slight angle on it, compared to the MacBook Pro's keyboard. As for Klack, l'm a late adopter and based on the 2+ years this app's been around, Henrik's added a lot of good features that I thought originally came standard from the beginning. So it’s clear he’s taking feedback and is still working on adding more sound options and other features. The biggest pro about this app is no data collection. I also like that it can swap seamlessly between my AirPods and internal mics - great if I’m out and don’t want to disturb anyone with the noise.

Ghoulette!
Wanted to try something new for my MacBook and was looking through different apps and stumbled upon Klack. I thought “4.99 to make fake keyboard noises? That can’t be worth it.” But then the curiosity got to me and I just had to see what it was about. There are few different typing sound options and I’m using Oreo. Absolutely obsessed is an understatement it’s so satisfying and I really think it’s worth giving the developers 4.99 for a pretty much “plug and play” style app without any difficult setup. You just download it, it redirects you to settings to allow the app to make sound, select your keyboard sound type and you’re good to go. Honestly extremely impressed and would buy again if I had to. Once you go Klack you don’t go back lol

There is something so charming about this app!I have only a bit of knowledge about mechanical keyboards, and the community surrounding them.I have pretty much zero interest in the keyboards themselves, aside from the nice sounds they make (sorry keyboard enthusiasts, I appreciate your obession though!).This app definitely was a whimsical kind of purchase, like "eh, I'll check it out, $4 is fine to me for what it looks like and the reviews". But WOW, I seriously love it.To me, the sound of the typing, even over airpods, is really nice. I know that's not very realisitic, but I tend to think of it similarly to the keyboard typing feedback you hear on the iPhone when enabled.Definitely looking forward to more updates and switches being added. I saw the developer say in reply to a review somewhere here that they are looking to add TONS more, like 20 switches, and that the length of time to add more is just difficult due to the high number of audio files. My one worry upon purchase was that there would be some lag between the keystroke and the sound coming through, but so far I have not noticed any lag whatsoever, even when I'm running a lot of programs, streaming videos/music, etc.One suggestion I'd like to make: put up a FAQ on your website so that people who don't know much about keyboards and the sounds they make, can learn some more about apps features, like what randomizable mapping is, or up/down keystrokes (that one is pretty easy to at least guess at, but I bet there are some out there who don't know!). Anyway, I'm really excited about this app, which is saying something that literally is named after what it does *klack!* and isn't a ultility, tool, it seems like a total vanity app - but FEELS like much more than that. I would call it a Quality of Life app, for sure.
