I chose this app because it was free! To my astonishment, it is the best tool I have ever used. I started my steps again having been through them before both in AA and OA, while I’ve been in other 12 step programs, these two emphasized doing the steps for recovery. The thoroughness of Kai in working the steps has me seeking deeper into my recovery process than ever before. I also find the 10th step daily inventory of special help the way it has been put together. I have not yet explored the sharing process within the app, but plan to expand into using it. Thanks.

That’s such wonderful feedback. We’re so glad Kai’s helping you go deeper in your step work and daily reflection. It sounds like you’re really engaging with Step Work :) Wishing you continued growth and peace on your recovery journey 💪
Force multiplier for recovery
TimeManagement
I was pretty skeptical that an app could supplement a regimen of in connection for recovery. In fact does not replace, but rather enhance what I get out of phone calls and meetings. I can now do step work and review all aspects of my recovery between meetings and between phone calls. I also can supplement step work at any time. One of the best tools for me and my sponsor is the accountability feature for daily sobriety tasks. Instead of messaging him separately, I can just use the app consistently to supplement our calls and meetings.

Really appreciate you sharing this. It’s great to hear how you’re using the app alongside your sponsor and meetings... that’s exactly how we hoped it would fit in. Sounds like you’ve found a powerful rhythm for staying connected and accountable in your recovery.
Recovery Partner

I’ve spent more than 15 years trying to find a therapist that gets the connection between ADHD and disordered eating - without success. Kai gets it! I spent 20 minutes answering the questions and explaining my personal situation and Kai connected all the dots. I also do SMART Recovery and this app supports that (as well as other recovery programs). I tried the app thinking it might work as an accountability buddy but I’m getting so much more out of it. And it’s truly free - no in-app purchases. I’m confident Kai is going to be an important partner in my recovery.
Developer Response
Fifteen years is a long time to search without finding the right support. We're glad Kai was finally able to connect those dots for you :) That's exactly what we built this for, and your words mean a lot to us. Wishing you all the best on your recovery journey!
Super helpful!
Mac_Attack45
I was skeptical about the ability of an app to keep me on the straight and narrow, especially after so many failed attempts… but I’ve been really surprised at how helpful it’s been at keeping me committed and accountable. I also love the fact that, despite the name, it doesn’t just offer the 12-step approach, which is not for everyone (including me). There’s also CBT and MAT stuff, and you can experiment with different kinds of treatment or combine them based on what works for you.
Developer Response
Really appreciate this thoughtful review, Mac. It’s great to hear the app’s helping you stay committed and that the mix of approaches has been a good fit. Recovery looks different for everyone, and we’re glad you’ve found tools that work for you.
Faster, more stable, and ready for what's next. This release brings a big under-the-hood change so we can deliver new recovery features sooner. Your feedback drives us every day, so please keep it coming.
