Now with expressions for all your generative workflows!
MIDI Messenger is an AUv3 MIDI plug-in that came to life as an answer to the lack of MIDI processors for iOS.
It allows creating an endless list of ‘messages’ that will be sent after being triggered by incoming MIDI or system events. MIDI messages can be typed in manually or contain some expression calculations allowing generative workflows.
Here's the list of possible triggers: On Load, CC, Note On, Note Off, MIDI/AU Host Transport Start/Stop/Continue, Pressure.
Here are possible message types: CC, Program/Bank Change, Note On, Note Off, Pressure, Pitch Wheel, Sysex, All Sounds Off (CC).
Messages have order, the first message to be triggered and sent is at the top of the list. The last one is at the bottom.
You can specify a delay time in milliseconds so the message is sent a bit later than the trigger-event was detected. You can discard incoming messages that triggered new messages, or pass them through. You can also reorder messages.
This is a great tool to process MIDI data. I’ve been looking for a straight-forward and reliable way to translate a variety of pad controller layouts (on device) to a consistent drum app keyboard layout (on iPad) - using AUM as the host. This is fast and easy to do with MIDI Messenger. Working with it is intuitive and fast (didn’t read any docs or watch any videos - just makes sense). And all the features I needed were already considered and implemented. Clearly there’s a lot of depth here with many other uses that come to mind. Considering it’s free (with the ability to tip) and is so useful, seems like a no-brainer tool MIDI composers would want in their arsenal. A hidden jewel in the world of IOS music production!
Nice and easy and intuitive.

Please add value from trigger for channel pressure and channel pressure as a trigger source.
Hello! The main two new features are expressions and multiple messages per single trigger. Generative workflows FTW!
Improved triggers: you can select multiple channels, and values with the support for ranges and single values. Also, new AU Host Transport triggers!
Small neat things: bypassing messages, humanised log with hex/dec modes, and... in-app donations — no need for Patreon account if you want to support us!
Please watch the release video on our YT channel to lear more about the new features!
Have a great and creative week!
