《万炮互轰》是一款模拟现代导弹战争的即时战略游戏。在一片漆黑的大地上，互相看不见彼此，谁先打第一炮就可能被其他势力群起而攻之。各方势力隐藏自己，悄然发展经济，侦察敌情，建造榴弹炮、火箭炮、电磁炮、洲际导弹、核弹等打击武器。大地上的土著生物会组织起来破坏你的发展，而敌人也会发射各种远程武器来毁灭你。你可以选择建造类似“铁穹”一样的防御体系拦截来自空中的威胁，也可以以攻为守，先发制人或果断回击。游戏设计了几十种可互相搭配的科技，可以打出各种流派。还设计了几十种深藏不露的高精尖特种武器，极大的丰富了游戏长期体验。《万炮互轰》首次将塔防与RTS结合起来，营造了导弹吃鸡的独特体验。
