تأسست جمعية العوامية الخيرية للخدمات الاجتماعية عام ١٣٨٧هـ وتم تسجيلها رسميًا بوزارة العمل والشئون الاجتماعية آنذاك برقم ١١ وتاريخ ١٣٨٩/١٠/٢٦هـ، وكان تأسيس الجمعية نتيجة اندماج مؤسستين خيريتين في البلدة وهما جمعية الأمل الخيرية والصندوق الخيري في جمعية واحدة، التي لا زالت تقدم خدماتها النبيلة بتوفيق من الله سبحانه و تعالى وجوداً من أهل الخير أمثالكم لترتسم البسمة على شفاه المحرومين ولننعم جميعا بحياة ملؤها البر والإيمان.
