The PLY spinning guild is an inclusive, active fiber community centered around spinning more, and more satisfying, yarns. Brought to you by Jacey Boggs Faulkner and PLY Magazine, it's a series of progressive, instructional videos where spinners can learn at their own pace and be guided by some of the best spinners in the community. Whether you're just starting or have been spinning for years; spin on a wheel or a spindle; love wool, silk, and/or plant fibers, there's a place for you in the guild.
Each season has 8-10 episodes and each episode has 3-20 parts (totaling 1-3 hours) where the topic is discussed in detail, from different perspectives, and demonstrated with easy-to-see spinning views (from the front, side, and above so you won't miss the action). For each season's topic we'll talk about fiber choices, fiber prep, drafting, plying, ply structures, texture, color, finishing, end use and so much more.
Features:
* All previous seasons and lessons for as long as you're a member
* New episode every 6 weeks
* Regular spin-alongs
* Forums for questions, communication, and community

I am almost through the first series and have learned so much. I started spinning 12 years ago in a small guild but never took actual lessons. I spun a lot but was never consistent in what I produced. The guild closed after a couple years and my wheel sat idle for too long. This online guild has been so informative but also has inspired me to spin again. This is a great resource for any spinner!
Great guild, limited app

Ply guild is great! Definitely join it! Learn to spin-what an amazing craft. Excellent teaching videos. But they are spinners- not programmers and they didn’t make a good choice of developer here. This app is pretty minimal. Not full access compared to the web browser version- for example forums not available. I’m currently trying to figure why my teaching content video “episodes” are limited to a few from last year- nothing from current offerings. Very frustrating. There’s no useful help section. The app is bare bones and hard to navigate, and now seems like content is blocked from updates… no way to figure what to do.
Gems in every episode!

I am really loving this! I have been spinning for several years, but have only taken a couple of lessons related to technique. I am learning so many things and I’m still in season one 😂I really appreciate the time and effort and care that has gone into each of these episodes. So thorough and thoughtful. Thank you so much for this great resource.
The best!

Whether you’re a brand new spinner or a seasoned pro, Ply Spinning Guild is a wealth of information with its built-in community of sage experts, young enthusiasts (and old ones- like me), fiber artists, and regular human beings who are curious to know more about this ancient craft. On the heels of the incredibly informative Ply Magazine, a highly successful crowd-funding got this up and running much to the happiness of spinners everywhere. Try it- you’ll love it!
* Bug fixes
* Performance improvements
