Fast & Simple

Coming from Windows one of the biggest things I miss is a super speedy image viewer. There really doesn’t seem to be anything that compares to FastStone Image Viewer from the Windows world in the MacOS ecosystem. Picview has some rough edges, like the arrow keys not working quite right, not rendering pixel art correctly, and zero editing tools, but it terms of scrolling through your images it’s faster than the built in preview app and more robust. Overall it has the core to be a really awesome program if the dev wants to keep polishing it out. II’ve tired over 3 dozen image viewers on MacOS thus far and thus far PicView is the winner for actually clicking images and viewing them, or looking through complex sets of files quickly.
Good App But Gifs Too Fast
xThatBlackCatx
The app itself works really well and is a great alternative to viewing images that doesn’t use Preview. The only real issue I’ve been having is that GIFs play way too fast. Hoping this can be fixed at some point, would rather not have to rely on opening GIFs in my browser constantly just to view them normally.
Developer Response
Thank you for your feedback and support! We’re glad to hear Picview works well for you as an alternative to Preview. We also appreciate you pointing out the GIF playback speed issue. We understand how inconvenient that is, and we’ll look into improving it in a future update so GIFs can play more naturally in Picview. Thanks again for your suggestion.
Almost perfect - One more thing to improve

All good as expected, especially for a freemium product. Has many excellent aspects. I really like the feature of displaying all images under **ALL SUB-FOLDERS**. I only hope to the App would have tighter Finder integration, in terms of:- Be able to display images even after files or the file structure are changed in a sub-folder at the Finder app- Be able to rename the file in the App without the need to go out to Finder or FInder/Get Info (File property) for file name change. With the improvement, the App will be able to be better integrated with a common image processing work flow. Thanks and keep up with the great work. P.S. macOS 12.x Intel mac
