I got this so that way I could at least see when my fire alarm was going off because my fire alarm goes off every single time I cook being profoundly deaf. I currently don’t have anything debt flashes that indicates HEY. This is going on that being said wow, this is an absolutely really freaking cool device. My recommendation is every time something comes up like say you know you’ve got your speech or you got your laughter or you’ve got your alarm that you also list everything out as they come through Because I’m not able to go back and click on the high thing and see exactly what that red dust was, which would help me in the event of OK I’m distracted. I’m dealing with a client. I’m dealing with a person in front of me. Overall I love the concept of this*update for suggestion or maybe another side of it I feel the words are sometimes small and would like my screen to flash with whatever important thing is going on like when the phone rings I miss it when I’m interacting with a customer. I really was searching for something that flashed like white and said telephone in it red for fire alarm since your reader is so functional to what most sounds are such as emergency vehicles n stuff blue for police red and white maybe for fire trucks so it’s more of that visual when it happens. It’s dumb but I was debating on making something like that myself but very unsure of how to create that tbh. Again thank you I use this at work since my implant broke. I have this and another phone to help with the captioning at the same time. It’s a bit much but at this time I’ll take anything that helps. I love the free feature and I hope this doesn’t change accessibility is important and finding apps that are truly accessible are one in a few.

Hearing how it supports real-world accessibility use cases means a lot to us.Your suggestion about listing and retaining detected sound events so you can go back and see what was identified is an excellent one. We understand how important this is when you are busy, distracted, or interacting with others, and we are actively evaluating this feature for an upcoming release.Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback and for trusting the app. It helps us prioritize improvements that truly matter.

More is Not Less
Hello Developers of DecibelX. This is a pretty decent app for everyday use. I don’t know how accurate it is with say a police officer’s decided reader, but I enjoy it nonetheless. The reason I’m not sure about your Db being that accurate is you all believe 30 Db’s is a soft whisper, could be, but not from 3 feet away as is explained on one of your other apps that is tied into this one. If I am standing 3 feet away from someone I am not whispering. I am having a somewhat difficult time conversing with someone and talking rather loudly. That’s not a whisper. A whisper is standing/sitting right next to someone and probably touching their ear with lips and their face with your hand to whisper sweet nothings in their ear. An impossible feat from three feat away. Don’t you all agree? So from there the Decibel chart is faulty. 60-70 decibels is quite loud. A loud rock concert is 120, bands have to use special equipment to reach “the average decibel” you are saying. This is ear splitting, shattering music. It be more accurate to say it’s similar to standing next to a building that just keeps being demolished for 2 hours. Other than that it is great. I don’t like that you took away features your faithful users could use for free. The users that downloaded an app because they read a blog post. Your price is also out of many people’s budget’s. I don’t know who you are catering too, but it is not the average user. That’s what developers do take a good app then ruin it. Why can’t they just leave the old app alone and make a different app from the original, like a spin-off? Pac-Man then, Miss Pac-Man. People still love those old games. Enough about that, onward. Why did my entire history disappear in one of these updates? It is all gone. This is tragic. I need it back. THIS IS A BIG GLITCH IN YOUR SOFTWARE UPDATE! Please fix.
Developer Response
Thanks for letting us know about the disappearing history. We will be reviewing our upgrade logic to see if we can make the history items remain intact. Appreciate your review!
Please fix Game Center pop up
Ky873
The decibel function itself is great. But idk if it is just me but it keeps popping up Game Center and it really disrupts using the decibel function. It is seriously annoying. I could watch an add but this one doesn’t even have an exit button and it is the most annoying thing in the world. People who use the app are not leisurely checking out some sound but are often under stress. The app developers should consider this
