A compelling narrative adventure by the BAFTA winning studio State of Play.
South of the Circle is a deep narrative experience of the emerging relationship between Cambridge academics Peter and Clara, set against the backdrop of the Cold War. The story focuses on promises made between career and true love, and the devastating consequences of not dealing with the past.
• Compelling and immersive narrative with a unique sense of time and place
• Resonant dialogue with a unique emotion-based mechanic
• Beautiful aesthetic and nuanced writing underlines the sweeping cinematic scope, further enhanced by actors drawn from “Bohemian Rhapsody” (Gwilym Lee), “The Woman in White” (Olivia Vinall), “The Crown” (Richard Goulding), “Game of Thrones” (Anton Lesser), “Chernobyl” (Adrian Rawlins) and “Downton Abbey” (Michael Fox).
• Rich, authentic environments and deeply researched 1960s setting

Confusing “game”?
djbelsbels
The reviews are high so decided to give it a shot, maybe it’s just not my style. But this is basically a movie you watch, and all you do to play the “game” is press some buttons - some to express emotion, occasional choose your adventure style choices that I don’t think really affect the plot, and sometimes you walk. The art and voice acting is phenomenal though. You must play with sound on. So this is definitely more for the story than it is a gaming experience, just so you guys know, maybe give it a shot? The trial will tell you if it’s for you or not
A hugely underrated title!

This game took me completely by surprise. It has a minimalist art style I wasn’t sure I’d be into, but it’s actually used it in a really intriguing way. The camera acts like a cinematic viewpoint at times, which works really well for a narrative title. So many story-based mobile games are 2D, so it was nice to play an immersive 3rd person adventure game. I think the most impressive part of South of the Circle is the writing and voice acting. I start lots of narrative games but quickly give up because the performances are weak and/cringy. This game was voiced sincerely and never veered into cheesy overacting territory. And then there’s the music! It REALLY contributes to the mood. So well done!If there’s complaints to be had, I’d say it’s the story that keeps this from becoming a masterpiece. It’s incredibly engaging for the majority of the game but kind of falls apart at the end. However, this doesn’t detract from the overall experience. If you like narrative games, this is my favorite one on mobile so far!
More of a movie than a game, worth the money imo

If you’re looking for an action game then this won’t be for you. While it may feel a bit boring and frustrating at times not being able to control the main character (Peter), this is one of the best stories to a game I’ve ever played. It’s short and only took about 2-3 hours to finish so it’s perfect if you don’t have a lot of free time on your hands. I’d highly recommend this to anyone for its theme, artwork and plot.MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD PROCEED WITH CAUTION:All I wanted to add here was that the story does have a sad ending so just be aware that none of the actions you choose in the game really have an impact on the story. If you need further explanation on this there’s a good Reddit post that explains the meaning of the story pretty well
