This app serves up the same quality and sometimes the exact same people you see on other apps. They create the illusion of filtering/screening for quality. They force you to input a lot of additional information but they do not seem to do anything with it. I also keep being asked to remove my filters- and you only get two! So now I’m forced to open my options to smokers 10 years younger than me. How is this helpful to me? Also once you match, you are forced to go on a date to interact. It’s a big ask when you’ve had no interaction. Waste of time at a high price point.

This app brands itself as exclusive, but in reality, it’s just another dating app with a long waitlist and a lot of unnecessary hurdles. The so-called “verification” process creates an illusion of quality, but after months of waiting, it’s unclear what they’re actually verifying beyond just having your ID on file. And after all that, you’ll still find the same people you see on other apps—just in black and white, quite literally. Every profile photo is monochrome, which seems like an attempt to make everything look more curated and high-end, but in reality, it just makes the app feel lifeless.The matching system is frustratingly slow, limiting you to three potential matches per day. There’s no real engagement—many users don’t even answer the prompts, yet they’re still active. And the biggest kicker? Once you’re finally approved, they lock your matches behind a paywall, forcing you to subscribe before you can even interact with them. Given the high subscription cost, you’d expect a well-curated, high-quality experience, but that’s not the case.At the end of the day, this app is just another gimmick that monetizes time and exclusivity without offering anything truly valuable in return. Save your money.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback.We are sorry to hear you found the verification steps to be tiresome - it's really important to us that we ensure we only have genuine profiles on our portal, given many of our members have struggled with other dating apps because of the extremely low barriers to entry. The monochrome feature has been popular with many members as it means you only see someone in full colour once you meet them in real life, so there is still an element of mystery and intrigue in your dating life! We have recently updated our algorithm so all paying members get 10 matches per day. This allows you to increase your chances of finding a compatible match without encouraging endless hours of swiping, which is not what our app is for. To use MAXION to its full capability - interacting with members and going on dates - you are required to pay for a subscription. We have a number of subscription tiers available. We find this ensures only people that are serious about dating join our platform, reducing the likelihood of people being ghosted or having their time wasted. We have recently updated our algorithm which includes new features to increase the likelihood of you going on a date and also fixes a lot of bugs. We hope you'll give our app another try as we've had a lot of happy members going on great dates and we'd love for you to be one of them! From the MAXION team xo
