We're migrating our backend from Google Firebase to Appwrite.
Why we're doing this:
Appwrite gives us the data resiliency and compliance infrastructure we need to build out digital prescription capabilities properly.
When we started, we set out to be a medication information resource for dentists.
What we learned: dentists are focused on patient treatment, not medication management — and that makes sense. Pharmacists (along with students and residents) are a primary cohort of users searching medication information on UpToDate.
At the end of the day, dentists and pharmacists are working together to achieve patient outcomes. The responsibility does not lay solely on the prescriber.
Our medication information focus will take a backseat to treatment guidelines and a comprehensive e-prescription experience.
