Avatalk now speaks Arabic. The whole app is in Arabic and reads right to left. Set your iPhone to Arabic, or choose it in Settings › Language. Arabic voices have Arabic names, and special-day messages come in the voice's language. Say it in your own voice • Switch Create to Record, say your message, and your photo says it back in your own voice. Cards • Put a video in a painted card for a birthday or an everyday moment, with your own greeting. Special days • Reminders look a whole year ahead and remind you on the day itself. • See whether reminders are on, edit your days, and save someone's day after you send them a card. • The widget says Ready to send when a video is waiting for its day. Replies • Make my reply brings you back to the video you're answering, and replies you receive wait for you on Home. Create • Leave Create and your words are kept as a draft. Save draft is one tap. • Hear it first marks the words a voice may say wrong, and tells you when another voice read it. Sharing • Captions on screen go with the video, and Save to Photos is right there. Your photo, faster • Take or choose a photo, frame your face, and use it straight away. It's kept in Saved faces. Buying credits • The shop says how many credits your video needs, and one tap after buying carries on making it. • A purchase is never lost, and Restore says what it found. • 1 credit = 1 second of video, everywhere in the app. Also • A smaller download, quicker lists, and better support for VoiceOver, Bold Text and Reduce Motion. • A notification when a video can't be made, when an HD copy is ready, and when a finished video is still waiting for you. • HD exports finish and save. A video that seemed to fail can be checked again, and arrives if it was made. • The progress bar drags both ways, and deleting a video also stops its link.

A new look, all the way through. Home, Create, the face, voice, music and style pickers, your Library, the player and the editor have all been redrawn in glass and light — with a new app icon and a new opening to match. Avatalk is dark everywhere now, so your photo and your video are the brightest things on the screen. And every "Do more" tile says what it costs before you tap it. Fixed • Words are no longer cut off at the larger text sizes. • Home and the record button keep moving after you've been away from the app. • Choosing no music now sticks when you export a 9:16 video. • A video that didn't finish says so, instead of leaving you waiting. • Copying a link tells you why one isn't ready yet, waits long enough for it, and can be canceled. • The voice recorder opens at a height its own card fits into.

A whole new UI

New in 7.5 LOOKS A look gives you a new face, not a new video. Tapping one now opens the face picker, so you choose who gets the look — the ready-made faces included, which never worked before. The video is offered afterwards, once there is a face to make it with. SPECIAL DAYS You can delete a day you added. There is an Edit button for it now, instead of a swipe with nothing to announce it. FASTER START The app no longer opens ten music files before anyone asks for music, and no longer interrupts what you were already listening to. BETTER ON IPAD Home no longer stretches a phone-sized column across the screen. Running out of credits used to show an error that looked like a problem on our end — so you'd tap Retry, and it would fail again. Fixed. • When a video needs more credits than you have, it now says so plainly and shows you exactly how many. • Every credit pack now appears in one place, with the price per second on each so you can see which is the better value. • A video that stopped for credits now offers "Get credits" instead of a Retry that could never work.
