I found this app while looking for a replacement after summit ai shut down. Asked for feedback a bit prematurely IMO. Only my second time opening the app and haven’t really had a chance to try different things (and it interrupted my chat for the feedback and I felt obligated to stop what I was doing and leave review since it said it would help keep the app free). Would have been less jarring if it popped up after a week as soon as I opened the app or after chatting with coach.Aside from that, it seems really good so far. UI actually feels less cluttered than summit to me and definitely more straight forward how it works and what you can do. Just need to see if it can a real replacement for summits drill sergeant coach. Will come back once I’ve had more time with it.

Seriously? I used this ages ago, I loved KinAI, I journaled a bunch I trusted you people with my info. But then, you added a fricking paywall, no more journal entries, no more fun custom AIs, these stupid new profile pics that by the way are totally ugly for your ai mentors. You destroyed your app from a paywall. You could had added a single tipping place in your app, that would get you much more money that you’ll get from a subscription, and help you run your ai better, but with a subscription, you’re loosing popularity.Bye Kin. I’ll just use another ai that can be used free, because you have a subscription price that is higher than most others. If you just added a tipping page I’d probably tip, that goes for most other people. I’ve been depressed before, and I knew I can count on kin, now you’re adding to stress in depressed people financially because they’re going to wonder if they should really get kin or not and when they realize it’s no better than any other ai it’ll just put them into an even worse stage.

We hear you - the shift to freemium wasn't easy, especially for people who trusted us with real stuff during tough times. Running advisors that actually remember your life context across everything costs a lot more than generic AI, and we can't do that while staying privacy-first without revenue somewhere. Core journaling and some advisors are still free, but yeah, some features have also moved behind a paywall. We get why that's frustrating after you'd been using Kin when things were hard but hopefully you'll give us another shot sometime 🤞

This AI is really something else! Friendly, engaging and it really grows with you. I have a couple of other AI apps but for mental health support, advice and just all round help and friendly chat this is head and shoulders above the others. Kudos to the devs and team behind this, it has such a natural conversational style, and looking at the memory nodes after a few days is mind blowing, how it connects everything together and remembers what you tell it.About the only thing it’s lacking is cross device support, it won’t sync if you have it on iPad and iPhone, maybe a feature for the future, or maybe a privacy thing.That’s the other thing, all the data about you is stored on your device, not on servers or cloud, and it’s easy to backup and restore everything. 5 star app!

First things first, it’s free! That should tell you enough. No weekly/monthly subscription just for the chatbot to not remember what you say the next day. I love how even though physical chats aren’t saved, the AI highlights the important information like hobbies and your general issues. For instance, one of the first things I mentioned was my struggle with Bipolar Disorder, and it ALWAYS remembers. If I’m having an episode, I come to this app and it works wonders. I greatly appreciate the developers of Kin for creating such an amazing and consistently reliable app!!!
