The Montel Energy Viewer app contains out-turn data from local market transmission system operators and forward forecasts from Montel's own models, and includes these charts:
1. Fuel Mix Daily View pie chart - The pie chart shows the forecast fuel mix for the country and date selected based on metered information for historic periods and forward forecasts for the future.
2. Fuel Mix Hourly View surface chart - The Fuel Mix Hourly chart is based on historical data and forward forecasts from renewable forecasts, availability, prices and demand for the country and date selected.
3. Power Price & CO2 charts - These forecasts are produced by Montel using fuel type and price forecasts from its proprietary forecasting models for the country and date selected.
Data comes from publicly available data sources for historical outturn. CO2 is calculated using lifetime carbon emission factors from the IPCC and other sources.
Future forecasts are from modelling of weather, demand, price and publicly available power plant availability.
