Outstanding sound!!

Reading the review of others, here, I concluded that Pine Player Pro isn't for everyone! Most of these people don;t have a clue! Everything the developer says above is TRUE!!!!PPP is now mature!! Is a different beast with different playlist style but you'll get used to it! The core 'problem' is that is the best sounding music player I encountered. Perhaps Audirvana is slightly better but at 6-7 times the price!I almost never use the equalizer or even upsampling, I mostly have hi-res and DSD files in my collection, the EQ is very good as well!Give it a try, you won't regret it!

It would be nice if everything were free, but there are limits to covering development costs with my own money. Purchasing the paid version will greatly help with ongoing development. thank you
EQ Broken
I already have a nickname
I upgraded from the free Pine Player and the EQ doesn’t even work. I start playing the track and open the EQ window. I choose “Preview (less delay)” and playback stops and the app starts freaking. The meters flicker and I press the pause/play button to stop and start playback but no music. I have to force quite the app.Same issue if I go to settings and change the oversampling rates. At first I changed the oversampling rate and the sound cut out and returned. That makes sense. Then I changed to the maximum oversampling rate and the app started freaking out again. I had to force quit the app again.I don’t see the point in paying for the Pro version when the additional features just cause the app to panic and freeze.
Awesome!

Thank you for making this! Apple won't let you use apple music unless you agree to give them access to your biometrics. Hmmmm!! Why do they need my biometrics for music? Don't know. But I chose to ditch music and use this app as they don't collect your data. Works great! Wish list - ability to make music player window wider and when importing playlists that your music would stay in the same order that it was in music.
EQ and oversampling just MaGicAL✨

Sadly the EQ and oversampling just went from free to $30, but to an audiophile like me, it's worth it, and I am happy to support an indie developer to make such amazing software. As a senior UX professional, I would even donate time to further the apps. Absolutely love Pine Player…wish I could get it on my iOS devices (but wouldn't pay another $30 for it) 👍

What’s New
• MIDI File Playback — Added support for SF2 and SF3 SoundFont synthesis, a 16-part mixing console, and output to external MIDI ports.
• Tracker Music Playback — Added support for various tracker music formats, including MOD, XM, S3M, and IT.
• WavPack DSD Support — Added playback of WavPack DSD (.wv) files, DoP output, and metadata reading and writing.
• Expanded DSP and EQ Features — Added reverb and stereo widening effects.
• Folder Tab in the File Window — Browse Mac folders hierarchically and add, rename, or remove folders.
• Convert and Save Selected Files — Convert selected files to MP3 or M4A. Bitrate and CBR/VBR settings are available, along with peak- and EBU R128-based loudness adjustment.
Improvements and Fixes
• Improved selection synchronization so that a track being edited in the metadata editor is also selected in the playlist and File window.
• Fixed an issue that prevented some high-resolution audio files from playing when DSP or EQ was enabled.
• Fixed an issue that delayed music playback when an external drive was connected.
• Improved volume control when playing through external AirPlay 2 devices.
• Fixed an issue where enabling reverb increased the volume and caused distortion. The original signal level is now preserved while providing only the headroom required for the reverb.
• Fixed an issue where the playback position became incorrect and tracks were duplicated in the playlist after switching to another track following DoP playback.
