The only WhatsApp app for Apple Watch that works without your iPhone. Wi-Fi & Cellular native. True phone-free freedom.
Yes, WhatsApp has an official Apple Watch app.
But it still requires your iPhone to be nearby and connected to work.
Blaze is different.
Blaze is the only WhatsApp messenger that runs completely on your Apple Watch — no iPhone connection required, ever. It connects directly via your watch's own Wi-Fi or Cellular. Leave your phone at home, on your desk, or turned off entirely. Blaze keeps you in the conversation.
Why Blaze
· Phone-free by design: Wi-Fi & Cellular, no iPhone needed
· Full WhatsApp: chats, groups, voice notes, media, reactions
· Voice-first replies: speak naturally, Blaze types for you
· Voice notes: listen, transcribe, or reply instantly
· Watch Face widgets: pin favorite chats right on your dial
· Smart notifications: react or reply without touching your phone
How It's Different From WhatsApp's Own Watch App
WhatsApp's official Apple Watch app depends on a live iPhone connection. The moment your phone loses signal, dies, or stays behind, the app stops working.
Blaze connects directly through your watch's own network. No relay, no middleman, no iPhone. It's the messaging independence Apple Watch was built for.
Built For
→ Runners and gym-goers who leave their phone behind
→ Anyone in meetings who wants quick, quiet replies
→ Parents who want kids reachable without handing them a phone
→ Anyone who simply wants a lighter, phone-free day

The is the best WatchOS app for WhatsApp out there so far. Only issues I’ve noticed is the battery drain (I have an Ultra 2 and I noticed the drain right away). UI wise, the names/profiles on the main screen could be a bit smaller to fit more people. Aside from this, I don’t use any other third party app except Blaze. Keep going dev!

Thank you - really appreciate your feedback! We’ve made some changes in the latest update to reduce battery usage. I’ve also noted your UI comments about the main screen and we’ll work on a solution for that. If anything else come up, feel free to reach out to us at contact@blazemessenger.com
Cool app but one product issue makes me consider unsubscribe
wondering fish
I am very happy and excited about Blaze. The feature of having WhatsApp on my wrist and been able to listen to audio messages, reply voice to text which works strong - is a killer feature. That why I am a subscriber. But when I started having group chats I realized blaze handled each notification of the group while me having then on mute in app. Unfortunately this really makes me lean toward unsubscribing and sticking to native app even though I am not a big fan of it
Amazing app with bug
InterceptorDude
I love this app. It used to work perfectly until it stopped. I have the setting on that I get notifications on the phone and the watch. This might be annoying if you’re texting back and forth and keep getting buzzes on the wrist for every text. The issue I’m having now is when my phone connected to the blaze app I don’t receive WhatsApp notifications on my phone anymore, only on the watch. This is very annoying especially when I’m actively on my phone. I sent multiple emails to support with no response. Ps: if support is seeing this please take a look into this issue I’m having. Thanks
Developer Response
Thanks a lot for your feedback and we’re really sorry about the experience. We’re aware of the current notification issues, which are partly caused by the new watchOS update and we’re already working on a fix. In the meantime, to avoid missing messages or getting double vibrations, you can deactivate Blaze notifications in the app settings - that should make things smoother until the next update
Good app

The app is very good, but it has bugs and doesn't have various settings to customize notifications, and the app requires a VPN to show messages (inside Iran).
Developer Response
Thanks a lot for your feedback! We’d love to hear more about the bugs you’re seeing and what kind of notification settings you’d like to have: feel free to email us at contact@blazemessenger.com so we can take a closer look. Regarding the VPN, you normally shouldn’t need one to use Blaze, but we’ll double-check to see if there’s anything specific happening in Iran.
• Some minor UI improvements across the app
• Missed WhatsApp voice calls now display correctly
• Faster, smoother performance
