Most music apps keep your music taste narrow, but it should be ever-expanding, like the universe!
Univershuffle is a completely algorithm-free approach to music discovery. A truly random, endless shuffle of the entire Apple Music catalog. If you don't have an Apple Music account, you can still listen to 30-second previews. Apple Music subscribers hear the full songs.

It’s such a fun and actually enjoyable idea and the execution is actually really really good. It’s cool listening to such random music and being able toggle between seeing country flag or year or a few other things for each song you’re listening to based on which one you care about the moment and quickly adding into your library or playlist. It really feels like it somehow fits all of the niche use cases. I could even think of for an app like this. Even using multiple streaming services as source stuff like that.
Developer Response
Thanks so much for the review! Glad you’re enjoying the app.
Better than an algorithm.

Without this app, I never would have heard “How Do You Feel” by Sara Shansky and the Titanic Dance Band, an instant classic that will be in my library forever. You probably wont hear it. You’ll hear something else that you never would have heard otherwise, that I’ll never hear. Some band with no online presence that’s perfect for you.
Tuning things out & discovering

I use this app when I’m really unable to make decisions about music listening but just have music playing to tune out the world. Bonus is I’m now finding random artists and albums to explore. This app is really well integrated with Apple Music. AND the Mac can run it for battery free long plays.
Deth to algorithms

This is a brilliant idea. Discover music without the help of big tech. They're hindering you more than helping, trust me. That said, there are some things this app could do to help you drill down a little little bit more into what you might be interested in at the time. I'm sending feedback to the dev.
- Tweaks to the formula to pick tint colors for each song
- Improvements to app onboarding
