Onshape Vision transforms on-screen computer models into virtual life-size products that designers can hold, pull apart and inspect as if they were already built. You can have the virtual model sit on your desk and reference it as you make changes to your design, or you can place your model at full scale in the context of how and where it will be used. See modifications you make to the model in real time.
Interacting and collaborating with CAD data has never felt more natural!
Product Designers benefit from :-
Better Insights on User Experience – Viewing your product at full scale – or shrinking it down so it fits on your physical desktop – can encourage new perspectives and help identify potential improvements. You can have the virtual model sit on your desk and reference it as you make changes in Onshape.
Improved Clarity on Fit and Function – Visualize your product in the context of how and where it will be used. Does your machine fit on the factory floor where you intend to install it? Are the electrical contacts in the correct location? Does it work in concert with other machines nearby? Onshape Vision ensures you are always seeing the latest modifications.
Enhanced Collaboration – Communicating with Apple Vision Pro feels far more natural than the traditional video conferencing experience. When talking with colleagues anywhere in the world, you’ll feel as though you are all in the same room. Comments are captured in the app and automatically saved to your Onshape project, informing the team of all those great ideas you discussed.

Version 3.2 resolves a few issues that customer experienced with crashes during loading larger models. We have also reactivated ARKit during SharePlay, following a bug fix from Apple. Finally, this version adds shadows in environments.
3.2 Jan 2
A fix for the issue where the Share Link would not appear when starting a SharePlay session with other users. Also a small UX enhancement to match Onshape coordinate system (Z up) with the new Contraints UI.
3.1.1 12/01/2025
A collection of fixes and small UX improvements. For users who are working with large models, you will like our new Locked movement mode which can be set to prevent inadvertently moving content. If you do want to move something, you can also choose custom movement constraints (within Settings) with visualization to allow precise control of position and rotation axes. We've love your feedback on this. Finally, we added indication showing when user has navigated out of an Onshape document (also prevents loading those documents), and improved highlighting shows parts even when occluded. All highlighted parts indicate selection in structure view and hide/show and hide/show toggles all parts.
3.1 11/14/2025
The release of VisionOS 26 brings local and remote SharePlay collaboration and sharing to Onshape Vision. You can now collaborate on your design with colleagues in the same room and with those at the other side of the planet - you all see a consistent view of the product, and you can all interact with the data and each other in real time. The new OS has also brought in some changes to the UI layout, with the sharing feature now part of the OS window (to the right of the window drag bar). We've also made a few other changes to the UI in line with user experience guidelines from Apple; how you select models to view has changed, and once in a viewing session, different aspects of the model (structure, comments etc.) are now navigated through a side panel. Sharing features have been moved to the new share location (see above) and environment controls and others are now on the main app toolbar. You can now reset the position, orientation and scale of the model independently.
3.0 09/15/2025
This release includes a new Assets tab which will appear if there are any documents, videos or other engineering 'assets' linked to the Onshape design. Open the tab to view information and follow the link through to the content on the Onshape website. We've also made a small change to the User Experience when starting a new session, reverting back to an older UX where we show an "end session" button. This fixes some issues we were experiencing with SharePlay collaboration between users.
2.7 08/13/2025
The current Onshape display state can now be set from within the session details view
The visibility of Onshape parts and assemblies can now be toggled from within the structure menu
2.6 07/21/2025
This point release is an API version alignment with the most recent Onshape IOS application. We encourage users to update to the latest Onshape release if you have not done so already.
2.5.1 06/10/2025
A new feature in this release is the ability to select and manipulate Assemblies; you can select the assembly node in the structure tab; you can then pick and move the assembly (and its component parts). In the 3d view, a tap+hold on a visible part will move the selection up to the parent, allowing you to also pick assemblies directly in the 3d view. A visible change to the UI has been the removal of the "close session" button - to close a session, it is now as simple as clicking the (x) on the bar that appears below the window. We have fixed a few issues that were linked to the new Volume window support. We fixed an issue where closing the main window would result in orphaned volume windows. Linked to this, we have also fixed a bug where the 'remove' button might not remove the associated volume window.
2.5 05/06/2025
In v2.4 we introduce support for full Spatial Computing; you can bring models in to the Shared Space and work alongside other applications e.g. your CAD and PLM data, right there alongside the live 3D model that is being driven from Onshape. At any time, switch to the exclusivity of an Immersive space, perform more detailed interactions, work in a collaborative environment with other colleagues via SharePlay, view your content in different environments and lighting conditions and, at any time, pop back out into the Shared application space with your 3D model to continue working with your other design data. There are no restrictions; work in the space that suits the design task you are focused on at the time.
2.4 03/31/2025
This is a synchronisation release that updates the communications protocol between the Vision Pro and the Onshape IOS app. The update sets things up for adding new and exciting features.
2.3 03/20/2025
In this minor release we have a few small bug fixes, including a fix to the ghosting behaviour when a user is customising/adjusting an environment, a fix to only update model scale for objects, and some additional help/guidance text (Tipkit) in the new Locations tab.
2.2.2 01/21/2025
A minor release that contains a small UX improvement around customizing environments - when adjusting (moving) the environment model, it will fade out so you can see your physical space overlaid with the digital environment. This helps greatly with adjustment and alignment. There is also a small UI fix to remove a redundant/duplicate UI control when in FaceTime (collaboration) mode.
2.2.1 01/15/2025
We are pleased to introduce a brand new feature which allows you to view your Product Design data in different "Environments". We've included 4 environments to get started, these provide a range of different lighting scenarios into which you can bring your models and see how they might look in different contexts e.g. a car design in a showroom, or a robotic machine in a factory. Environments, and the models you bringing in from Onshape, all can optionally be pinned into the physical environment, recording its position for future viewing.
2.2 01/10/2025
This release fixes a couple of issues that were identified. The first corrects the display of Onshape surfaces with 2-sided materials, and the second is a fix that enables loading multiple documents when using SharePlay for collaborative review.
2.1.1 12/14/2024
In this release, we've added support for double-sided materials, to ensure that non-solid surface/quilt geometry types are displayed correctly, regardless of viewing direction. The details tab now also reflects which Display State is being shown in the linked Onshape session. We recommend that users update their IOS Onshape app in line with this release, and restart the IOS device to ensure that the devices will correctly connect to the Vision Pro.
2.1 11/23/2024
Some exciting new capabilities in this release, as we enable (for the first time) the ability to load more than one design into the same immersive space - you can now bring different design iterations together to compare, or put one design in the context of another. Related to this, when models are loaded again, they will appear in the same relative position. You can now also choose to 'pin' a design into the physical space - each time you open this document from Onshape, it will appear back in the place where you placed and pinned it. Onshape "decals" are now supported, enhancing the realism of your models, and the manipulation of parts (picking and movingg etc) has improved and is much smoother/responsive with the new 90fps tracking feature in Vision OS2.0. Finally, a search/filter feature is available in the Structure tab - enter the name of a part or assembly and the model hierarchy will help you find the item.
2.0 10/15/2024
With the advent of Vision OS2.0 and the new and improved features within, we have been able to reactivate direct hand gestures during SharePlay sessions, and improve part movement during SharePlay sessions.
1.7 09/26/2024
Along with some small bug fixes around part highlighting, we've added a new feature which helps indicate where a part has comments associated to it - in the 3D spatial view, you will see icons, linked to the part. Tap on the icon to open up the comment (main window) for review/reply.
1.6 06/11/2024
In this latest version, we've fixed a bug where initial model would sometimes appear at your feet - it should now always appear in front of the primary app window.
We've also fixed some problems where UI state would get stuck when re-entering a session, and where highlighting would sometimes appear to get stuck 'on'. We've also made some improvements in performance when loading large models. Finally, we've made some refinements to the Collaboration UI by exposing the Facetime/SharePlay functionality more prominently in the UI.
1.5.1 05/07/2024
In this latest release we have made a few modification to the model/part movement and model material selector UIs, to help clear up some areas of confusion that have been reported. We've also fixed a few bugs around part selection/deselection. When moving and positioning your design, we draw a helpful indicator on any nearby surface, allowing you to identify a suitable location to position the model. A major new feature we are including for the first time is multi-user collaboration - call up a friend/colleague over FaceTime and, if they have the Onshape Vision app installed, you can invite them to a shared session where they can see the same content that you are seeing from Onshape. Two or more people can collaborate around a shared view of the Onshape document - you can all pick and move parts, hand them to each other, make comments etc. With the new Spatial Persona capability on Apple Vision Pro, you can interact with your colleagues as if they were in the same room.
1.5 04/27/2024
This release contains a few small changes to UI layout to help when navigating between sessions.
1.4 03/23/2024
This release includes various bug fixes and some improvements to the UI. Following user feedback, we've exposed a Setting to allow the user to choose whether to show the highlighting effect when looking at parts. Other settings have been restructured to optimise the display. We've also made some improvements to how parts feel/respond when you manipulate them in your hands.
1.3 03/07/2024
This release includes various bug fixes and enhancements. First and foremost, the example models now load much quicker, and following a lot of great feedback from early adopters, we've extended the User Interaction model to allow both model and individual part scaling - simply pinch with both hands and pull out to make the model larger, push together to get smaller. Placing the model in any desired location has become much easier. There's a convenient UI control to reset the model back to lifesize 1:1 scale, and another button press will restore the model location and scale to bring it back into view. Available sessions are now shown on the main page between sessions. In part mode, we've included audio and visual indicators to help with pulling parts out of a model for closeup inspection.
Finally, when new comments are created, notifications with deep links are displayed.
1.2 02/28/2024
This version fixes an issue observed when a session was first opened and the 3D model could appear on the floor. The model should now appear in front of the user. The model can now be moved before loading has completed. Usage tips should now display as the user progresses through the app UI. Some cosmetic fixes to the demonstration models have also been incorporated.
1.1 02/09/2024
This version allows the user to import USD-defined environments of their own design, and includes support for dynamically-generated reflection maps when navigating to saved teleport locations. This enhances the sense of realism.
