This one’s a lot of fun and has lots of potential. The gameplay loop is good. It has some nice VS mechanics (unlockables, permanent upgrades, DPS stats post death etc). The pixel art is nice. Decent variety of maps, characters, and enemies. Fairly balanced. It’s missing weapon mutation/synergies and the mini boss drops aren’t chests, just upgrades, and sometimes it’ll upgrade a weapon you don’t have yet which forces you to choose that weapon and takes up a slot. Some other quality of life things like that are missing but nothing huge. However, there are a couple major things that I think need fixing. First is the hit boxes feel a little janky and are frequently hard to determine, especially when your character gets a weapon upgrade that alters their animation. Then there’s something weird with the touch sensitivity where if you pick your finger up a split second to move in a different direction, your finger isn’t detected right away and you need to touch the screen one or two more times before it registers. Bothersome but I imagine could be easily fixed. There are also a few minor bugs that need to be fixed like how your character continues moving across the screen after you select your level up or how the axe weapon just flies up off the top of the screen in hyper mode.I know I said more negative than positive, but the 4 star rating is true. Solid fun and good alternative for when you’ve maxed eggs on every character in VS.
