--- Passage positions & track reliability --- Boatie Logbook is now more careful about when a log line gets a position: - - Blank Position when it can’t know: If there’s no live fix, it only fills from the skipper track when it can interpolate within about two minutes on the same track segment. Otherwise Position stays blank rather than guessing from an old point. - Crew and Watch events keep their own fix: Merged crew lines and Watch events keep the position (and instruments) they captured. It won't overwrite them with the phone’s location at merge time. - Pause / Complete use “now”: Those auto-log rows are timed when you pause or complete, even if the position comes from the last known track. - Track gaps are clearer: After a long silent stretch, a big GPS jump starts a new track segment instead of dropping the point. Auto-log live fixes can still plant a track anchor (with an accuracy note when GPS is rough). - Track isn’t recording: On the Live tab, a banner appears when GPS looks live but the track isn’t saving. Optional Track recording alerts (disabled by default) can notify you if the track goes quiet in the background; enable them under Settings → Defaults → Live passage. --- OpenSeaMap seamarks --- Boatie Logbook can now show OpenSeaMap seamarks on your passage maps. Buoys, lights and other marks display as a clear overlay on the map (requires Extended or Premium tier to access). You can download different region packs to your device for use online or offline. Manage packs under Settings -> Offline Map & Seamarks -> Seamarks. If you move into an area you haven't downloaded yet, Boatie Logbook will offer to download the relevant pack on the go. Note: OpenSeaMap seamarks are community-sourced and not an official ENC. --- Ship's Papers --- keep convenience copies of insurance, radio licences, registration, and similar documents on each vessel, with expiry tracking and optional local reminders (requires Premium tier). Find them under Vessel tools in Library --- Passage ports & places --- Set 'To' the same way as 'From'. Use your current position or add a place when planning or updating a passage. --- Share Track --- - Choose to create Short, Medium, or Long animated clips (9 - 30s) — Medium and Long versions use a cinematic map crop - Optional elapsed-time stopwatch display on stills and videos - Optional OpenSeaMap seamarks on output map (Extended and Premium tiers) - Short animations can also export as GIF; faster, more reliable video creation --- Additional --- - Extended 'quick-log' events to iPhone/iPad interface and included additional default event types (Gybe, Event Mark). Settings moved from Apple Watch to Settings->Defaults - Log past passages without GPS/GPX.
