Yuko reads the ingredients and tells you what stands out: higher-risk additives, allergens listed on the pack, and nutrient levels that are high. When there is not enough information to judge, Yuko says that instead of pretending.

340+ E-numbers and other additives, each with a risk level and a plain explanation of what it is and what it does. Risk levels are based on EFSA, WHO, FAO and Turkish Food Codex assessments, and every screen links to the sources.

Nutri-Score, NOVA processing group and Green-Score, each with the breakdown that produced it. Full nutrition table per 100 g or per serving, with high/medium/low levels for fat, saturated fat, sugars and salt. Ingredients with allergens highlighted. Labels and certifications. Packaging and recycling. Origins, countries and stores. Product photos.
● PERSONAL AND FAMILY PROFILES
Tell Yuko about allergies and health conditions, for yourself and for the people you shop for, and scans are checked against every profile.

Begs for review before use

WHY do you all insist on begging for reviews at the end of the onboarding process before a customer has even used your product? No, no NO!! Also, I like the search feature, but it looks like there are only a handful or two of included additives anyway? I also typed in the beginning letters of Phenylalanine, thinking it would have information on common ingredients like this too, and nothing came up…I would want more info on all common ingredients in foods, not just whatever is considered an official additive. It doesn’t have to be considered an additive in order to have information about how healthy of an ingredient it is considered. I haven’t had a chance to scan in the store yet so will have to wait on reviewing that feature. It seems like after a product has actually been scammed would be a MUCH better /more appropriate and logical time to be begging for a review.

Thank you for your comment. The idea behind Yuko actually became very personal for me. When I was going through chemotherapy, my doctor warned me to be much more careful about what’s inside the food I consume. That experience made me realize how difficult it is to quickly understand ingredient lists, and it inspired me to build Yuko to help others make more informed choices about their food.
Yuko now opens on your household.
• A new Home. This month's count of labels read and warnings caught, your recent scans, and the additive catalog ordered by the conditions the people at home actually have.
• Your earlier scans count too. Scans you made before this update are folded into your monthly total, once, the first time you open Home.
• A lighter look. White cards, one deep green, and verdict badges that stay readable in grayscale and in Dark Mode.
• Yuko is now fully translated. Every screen exists in all 40 App Store languages, the permission prompts moved from 12 languages to 40, and every sentence that carries a number now uses the plural rules its language really has.
• The reviews on the subscription screen are real App Store reviews, quoted as their authors wrote them.
• Notification permission is no longer asked for at launch. It is offered quietly after your first successful scan, and in full only from Settings.
