Addicting and fun

This is an absolutely well done game. It was so good I had to delete it because I was spending just way too much free time playing it. The gameplay is both simple understand and complex enough to keep you going as you try to learn what combinations work best. The balance of skill/strategy/luck seems to be well done. With the right skill/strategy you’ll be winning most matches and +rating on most games. Every so often you might get some bad draws. Sometimes you’ll get super lucky. On top of all that, it is very f2p friendly. With a lot of these games you find out very quickly you’ll need to succumb to micro transactions if you want any hope of keeping up. Or at the very least keeping engaged with the gameplay. But that hasn’t been the case and iv been playing obsessively for quite a while. So far Iv managed to level up the two free characters to 10. As well as upgrading plenty of non-legendary items a fair amount of times all without buying currency. Iv gotten to emerald ranking and the final stage before deciding to take a break. So I can’t speak to anything beyond that, but so far you can 100% progress and keep Up without spending on micro transactions. Surprised this game isn’t more popular. 10/10

This game is phenomenal overall, conceptually and in practice I love this game. It’s like backpack battles for PC but with more overall content and characters. But, about the topic of the characters, they are INSANELY overpriced (imo). I’ve been playing (on and off) since release and only have 5 characters total having not spent any money on the game, and honestly I’d be more than willing to have this be one of 3-4 mobile games I pay money in/for if they made the characters more affordable. Like if there was only 2 new characters the price would still be over-the-top but not as unreasonable, but how should I be expected to pay (at minimum) $6 for 8 more characters, making it almost $50 to plat the game to its fullest extent? The devs should make a pack for all the characters (and potentially new ones) for like $5-$10, or at the bare minimum make them cheaper in diamonds. Like why is it $10 in diamonds for 1 character but $6 in actual money?? I feel like that’s a bit off overall and I think a good amount of people would agree. And honestly even $10 seems a bit unreasonable seeing as the core function of the game is the stuff you put in your backpack and the new characters bring new stuff that could make or break your run, but at least that way I could say that the game mechanic is less of a cash grab and more of a “support to the devs will give you more in the game” type of situation.

Amazing with a couple flaws

Could not be happier with my experience with the game overall. There are only two major things that I feel are a big detriment to the game going forward. The biggest one is the unique items. They are incredibly important and yet completely imbalanced with some doing nothing and others carrying games on their own. The biggest issue is that you don’t have access to all of them each run. A re-roll would be great but I feel that most of them should be a lot more build opening than just being individual items. The other thing is how while it is great that each character plays so differently, it feels like each character is hard locked to specific builds without much lateral movement. I think the simplest thing would be to add something like an amulet system somewhere around getting a hero to level ten where you can then get an item to allow you to get other characters that are at level tens items. Could be around legendary rarity so that they are rare. Other than these two critiques the game is great.

I downloaded this game thinking it was another check once, delete later, that I could spend some time on. I realized pretty quickly that it was surprisingly complex. There are about a dozen heroes right now and they specialize in certain builds. Whether that be healing and debuffs, healing and true damage, defense and true damage+debuffs, buffs and debuffs, etc. the backpacks you can buy to fit more items from your inventory are also very important as they have modifiers that can affect the stuff that are inside them. There are stars for some items that when appropriate items are placed in the stars, buffs either the original item or the placed item by a select amount. So you have to balance your backpacks, item placements with stars and fitting the most amount of gear possible, as well as balance econ. You have to balance gold expenditure and always have items in your bag you want to “fuse” otherwise you’ll lag behind and lose. Basically it’s a fun game.*DOWNSIDE*It’s not P2w per se but gems are a difficult currency to get and are required to unlock new heroes without spending money. So the hero selection can feel kind of stagnant but there is a daily/weekly (can’t remember) hero rotation of heroes you don’t have.
