I’ve never known enough about baseball to call balls and strikes myself, so backyard practice was always tricky. Now with HeyBLU, the kids run their own games, or my son and I can actually work on his pitching together, without second guessing the strike zone. It’s been great to be part of his improvement in this way. I can pull up stats afterward and actually talk about them with his coaches, instead of just nodding along. Total game changer, for everyone.

I’m not a baseball expert, but after watching the demonstration and exploring the app, I could clearly see the value. HeyBLU gives players, parents, coaches, and even umpires access to real-time ball-and-strike feedback and pitch information. I especially like that it can be used during practice or games and gives everyone a more objective reference point. The app has several features, so it may take a little time for a new user to learn everything, but the guided setup helps. I think this could be a valuable tool for serious baseball and softball families.

I tried the Hey Blu app in the batting cage and pitching sessions using both baseballs and softball and also used the app during my softball games. Found the setup is very easy to do following the on screen prompts and the app works great calling balls and strikes and keeping track of the number of pitches and pitch location. Very cool app and highly recommend it for coaches, players and parents!

It is amazing how simple and effective this is! I got for my kids to track bullpen sessions and he can clearly see how many balls and strikes he’s throwing, velocity and what zone (1-9) he’s having issues hitting consistently. So worth it if your kids are in baseball. Necessity if they are in higher levels like travel ball. This little app is going to change baseball!
