Donna is not an app, she is a full production studio with a personality, a schedule, and a wig collection. The moment she loaded, she gave me that look like, “Scoot over, I’m driving,” and suddenly I’m arranging harmonies like I’ve got a tour announcement dropping at midnight. She doesn’t just help you make music; she clocks in like a shift supervisor with glitter on her clipboard and tells you exactly where your creativity needs to stand. The interface is smoother than a fresh press and curl, and the features snap harder than a queen in a reunion episode. Every beat she generates feels like it came with choreography, lighting cues, and a subtle threat. Donna doesn’t ask if you’re ready, she assumes you are and proceeds accordingly. Professional enough to impress someone with a degree in audio engineering, but chaotic enough to make your group chat wonder what era you’re entering. She gives you vocals that sound like they’ve been rehearsed for weeks, even if you recorded them in your car outside a Taco Bell. She layers, she polishes, she elevates like a glam squad for your sound. And the intelligence? Sharp. She picks up your vibe faster than your nosy aunt at Thanksgiving. Donna is the coworker who shows up overdressed, overprepared, and over it and somehow still carries the whole team. Five stars because she didn’t just help me make music; she made me feel like I had a documentary crew following me around.

Super easy to use generate pretty decent songs as a wide variety of genres to pick from. There is a bit of a learning curve to it. I could definitely be better. Some of the features I would have to say should be changed. Like if you pay for the year premium, I feel like the stem separation and original creator. Proof certificate should come with the subscription for the year, instead of having to pay extra fee for each one. which their certificate for proof of creation does not protect your creator rights to the music for the lyrics. which would not hold up in court. So I have a little secretly pulled if you are like me and had your own lyrics to generate the music or into music. I copyright all my lyrics under one artist name. So that I do have legal protected rights to the music. also, I think the explicit content marking should be able to remove if you want to if your song doesn’t contain any explicit words in content, you shouldn’t have to dissect and regenerate. I feel like you should be able to remove it if you want. I have one point I did join the discord server and was very very active and actively helping other users. Learn how to master the app into getting the right sound with the right flow and was kicked off the server and I guess band it was blocked from being able to use the server on discord.

I get what sounds like a studio-recording. Good for sharing my songs with others, to see how songs sound “from the studio”. However, getting Donna to do what I hear in my head (original music & lyrics) requires many iterations. Many of the 468 songs are useless to me because the melody from Donna is “wrong”, not the melody I’ve written. This is especially the case with “Gone is My Reason to Cry” (original music and lyrics). The lyrics here often involve questions. But Donna does not give me questions, with rising pitch at the end, for the question mark. Thus, the many iterations. To be honest, I have deleted far more than I have kept! Those songs are left over and still exist in the folder for deleted songs. I can always go back to see what “nonsense” I got back from useless iterations. Nonetheless, Donna does give me a great studio band! I have compared other music AIs. I also reckons Mureka. That app allows one to use an existing song as a reference. I’ve used Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone” to write “He Cut Me Like a Knife” & “He Took Away My Shame” (original music and lyrics). I need certificates from Donna for all of my original songs. Donna also does well in using photos as references. Here again, I often must “correct” the lyrics because Donna writes ungrammatical sentences. My solution? I correct the lyrics for myself, but do not change the melody from Donna, if it is suitable. I create my own “cheat sheets” (with corrected lyrics). Then I can perform the song on my own with chord symbols. That works great! Final point: Yes, use Donna, but be prepared for an arduous process of weeding out unsuitable results from Donna.

Donna is a very fun app to use. I love creating learics for my songs and sharing them with my friends and community. It’s always fun to hear what everyone has made and getting inspiration from it. Making songs let me open up and have something fun to talk about. I really like the new update that lets me use different ways to make my songs better without having to pay more money. I had fun messing around with my brother when we reversed some of my songs! There are a few things that I am not the most fond about. In order to make any songs you have to pay at least 6 dollars a week, 40 dollars every semester, or 50 dollars a year. When you pay you will only get 20 song credits (1 credit = 1 song) a week. Once you use all of your song credits for the week, you either have to pay more or wait for the credits to renew next week. I would have found it helpful if I got a pop up that said “Your running out of song credits!” And I would’ve been able to cut back on making so many songs at once. I also don’t particularly like how when you make one of your songs public, anyone could copy what you wrote and just remake your song without your permission. If you made the remake song button ask for permission from the creator that might be nice. Overall I love Donna and would definitely recommend it!
