Your new master isn't better just because it's louder. ABSeq matches loudness, switches A/B in sync and runs blind tests, so you hear the real difference.
ABSeq is an A/B comparison tool for producers and mixing and mastering engineers. Load two to four versions of a mix, a master or a reference track and switch between them in sync. Auto Gain matches their loudness first, so the louder version can't win by default.
COMPARE MIXES LEVEL-MATCHED
• One large A/B key switches tracks without losing your place in the song
• Auto Gain matches every track to the quietest one by integrated loudness (LUFS)
• Compare a new mix with the last one, a master with the pre-master, or your song with a reference track
BLIND A/B TEST
• ABSeq hides which track is which and shuffles them every round
• Pick the one you prefer in each round, for 1 to 50 rounds
• At the end, ABSeq shows which mix you picked and how often
• Every round is level-matched, so you're judging the mix and not the volume
LUFS METER AND TRUE PEAK
• Integrated LUFS and true peak (dBTP) on every track
• How much Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Tidal, Amazon Music and Deezer will turn the track down
SEE WHAT YOU HEAR
• Live spectrum analyzer
• Pro: loudness graph, tonal balance view and an A/B difference curve that shows where two mixes differ, band by band
SEQUENCER
• Steps through your tracks for you, in time with each file's detected tempo
• Choose the beat division and step order, then just listen
CAR TEST AND HEADPHONE CHECK
• Keeps playing and switching with the screen locked
• Lock-screen controls play, pause and switch tracks
• Works over Bluetooth and wired headphones, speakers and car audio
YOUR FILES, YOUR DEVICE
• Opens WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A and AAC files from the Files app
• Everything is analyzed on your device. No account, no tracking.
• Save sessions and reopen them with their files in place
• Designed for iPhone and iPad, with two-screen layouts on iPad and foldable iPhone

I reference mixes as I work on them using Apple headphones connected to my phone, but I’ve just used the Files app until I found this. It’s a huge upgrade being able to a to Files, instead of bouncing back-and-forth between opening different files. I think the audio quality is the same as the Files app on the iPhone, but it may be slightly different. My only critique would be to make sure that the audio quality is exactly the same as the audio files, so that you’re not getting a warped perspective of what things sound like.
Where are the features?
Michael Incavo
This app is missing the most basic feature of an AB test app - the ability to blindly evaluate two audio files. To me, the goals of an AB test are to:1. determine if one can hear a difference at all between the files 2. determine if one has a preference for either of the two files, or can blindly identify them by sound alone. This app is so close to being extremely helpful, but it’s extremely feature-bare for the wildly high price of $15/year. Here’s how it should work in my view; the app has three buttons: A, B and X. You import two files. The names are hidden from the user but retained by the app. The two files are randomly placed on one of the three buttons, and a duplicate of one of the files chosen at random is placed on the third button. You listen to the three of the files, and depending on the mode, you are asked by the app to either identify which file is which, or which file you prefer. You repeat this process perhaps 5 or 10 times, with new randomization of the above factors each time. Then, the app reveals to you how many times out of 10 you chose each file as the favorite, or how many times out of 10 you correctly identified each file. I would be happy to pay $15 for an app that does this well, similar to ABX Tester on Mac. However, this app lacks every single feature necessary for me to derive any value from its AB test functionality.
Perfect!
