I was searching for the Microsoft Authenticator app, and this “Authenticator App” showed up at the top of the search results with a 2.5 average rating. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize it was the wrong app until after I accidentally purchased the annual subscription. Many other users have reported this app as deceptive, and I wish I had seen those warnings sooner.When I tried to cancel and request a refund, Apple refused. I have not used this app at all, yet they still won’t refund my money. This app feels like a trap. Be very careful and double-check before downloading. I downloaded this app by mistake because it came on top of my search for Microsoft Authenticator and its prominent ad (Authenticator for Microsoft) closely resembles the legitimate, free app I was looking for. I didn’t notice the middling rating at first, and unfortunately, I purchased it before realizing my error—within a minute.When I tried to cancel the purchase immediately, It wouldn't let me. I then tried to get a refund through the App Store, and I was told I was “not eligible” for a refund. I appealed again to App Store and it refused again. This feels like an intentional trick to mislead users into buying something they don’t want. I wouldn’t be surprised if many others have fallen for the same deception.If it were possible to give zero stars, I would have given it to this app.The App Store should not allow this kind of misleading practice, as it damages their own reputation too. If you’re considering downloading this app, Don’t! It’s not worth the money, and their refund policy (or lack of one) is highly questionable.I’ll be reporting this and hope action is taken to prevent others from getting tricked the same way.

Within minutes of purchase I realized it was a third party app and immediately requested a refund through my apple account. 24 hours later I was denied my money back so I wrote a detailed explanation of my situation and resubmitted the request. 24 hours later a second denial this time stating final. Called apple to try and reverse the decision, but was told there was nothing they could do. Absolute scam, how is apple even allowing this

The app does not work at all. The scan does not work and I’m not spending the time manually entering a long link and trying to figure out what to put under “account” - even worse I can’t get into my emails to send their support a message. Waste of time. Save your money!
