Why does charge scheduling have to be complicated?

I might be slow on the uptake but why does everything in this app need to be complicated? First, I got the splitter from our electric provider. The splitter itself is good and I was hoping it would help me control charging on two of our EVs. But nope, in order to control charging, it has to hook in to your EV accounts. Not only that, once you hook an EV account in, there’s no way to delete it. My dumb Toyota vehicle doesn’t let me control charging schedules unless I subscribe to their RemoteConnect so it’s pretty useless and I can’t delete my vehicle from the app. Another issue is why does it have to be a “ready by X time” scheduling? I just want my EV to start charging as long as it’s off-peak so I have charge whenever I wanna go for a drive any time of the day. Oh and just to reiterate, the charge schedule is not gonna be available UNLESS you connect your EV account.Overall, I am very disappointed with the execution. I wish it would just let me control charging schedules through the splitter itself, not by letting this app control my EVs through hooking up my EV accounts.

We've added the ability to delete vehicles from your account, and we've simplified the scheduling interface.For off-peak charging without EV account integration, you can use simple time-based scheduling through the splitter settings. Faster to read charging levels than HondaLink

I ordered one of NeoCharge’s splitters and while waiting for it to arrive, I thought I would check out this app. Turns out, the app is pretty useful on its own! I have a Honda Prologue and the HondaLink app is notorious for being slow. Sometimes I only want to check my charging level, which literally takes 30-60 seconds on HondaLink, and even sometimes it won’t update at all. Once I linked the NeoCharge app to my Honda account, it pulled in my vehicle information and gave me an instant read of my charging level. I was blown away that this app is free and gives me faster access to this information. And once I have my splitter, I’ll be able to rely on the better scheduling through this app as the Prologue has pretty meager scheduling options for my charging. Very impressed so far!Edited to add — after over a month of use, I’ve found this app to be indispensable. In addition, I’ve had a few technical questions to ask about the app and the Smart Splitter product they sell and their response, despite only being a small team of folks, has been amazing. Truly love these guys and they have a customer for life.

My best practices using the NeoCharge App.I have the Tesla Model Y using the mobile charger unit connected to the NeoCharge unit on the Secondary side and primary side is the dryer. I inputted all the power rate and set the schedules similar to how I did it in the Tesla app as well. However I use the Neocharger app for overall status between dryer and Tesla where Tesla app only tells me there is no power when my dryer is in use or the schedule time to charge set in NeoCharge is not there when I plug in the Tesla. I do set the scheduled time in NeoCharge 5 mins earlier and also ends 5 mins later than the schedule I set in Tesla app. So far since Nov 2024, today is September 2025, the app has worked flawless for my needs.

I’ve been using NeoCharge splitters for 5 years or so. We have two NeoCharge 14-50 splitters for our 4 plug in vehicles. The devices themselves have been completely trouble free and very reliable. The reporting in the app has evolved a lot and this latest revision is fantastic. It now allows multiple splitters on a single account and the information it reports is exactlyWhat I have been looking for. Fantastic work! I highly recommend the splitter and they app.
