The only app that combines rucking and wellness. Track weighted workouts, monitor recovery, and reach your goals with precision metrics designed for loaded movement and holistic health.
TRAIN SMARTER WITH LOAD INTELLIGENCE
RuckWell goes beyond basic tracking. Our proprietary RuckLoad™ system calculates your recent training stress by combining intensity, volume, ruck weight, and elevation gain across all your activities—rucking, running, walking, weight lifting, and strength training.
Tracking your recovery activities like mobility work and sauna sessions helps improve your RuckLoad insights, creating a complete picture of your training readiness. Know when to push and when to rest based on your total training stress and recovery state.
WHAT MAKES RucKWell DIFFERENT
BUILT FOR WEIGHTED TRAINING
Unlike generic fitness apps, RuckWell understands that 3 miles with 40 lbs is fundamentally different than 3 miles without. Track your ruck weight and get accurate power, pace, and load calculations that reflect your actual effort.
RECOVERY YOU CAN TRUST
Wake up to your daily Recovery Score—calculated from overnight HRV, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep quality, and your RuckLoad. Know whether to push or rest before you lace up.
TURN-BY-TURN NAVIGATION
Import GPX routes and get breadcrumb navigation on both your iPhone and Apple Watch. Audio alerts keep you on track with turn cues and off-route warnings. Navigate confidently whether you're using your phone or watch.
SEAMLESS STRAVA INTEGRATION

Great app. My one complaint is the iPhone app defaults to no vo2 max protection and while you can change it, you have to do it every time because the app doesn’t save your preference. To add annoyance to this, the watch app shows vo2 max protection is on, but if you didn’t change it on the phone before starting a ruck, RuckWell is going to write a “hiking” workout to whatever apps you have connected to it. That means your vo2 max will go down. Very frustrating. But hey, it’s free so this is really just a nitpicky complaint. Thanks for the app!Edit: an update has removed the vo2 protection it seems. I no longer see any option to turn that feature on or off. Maybe it’s behind the paywall now🤷🏻♂️. Since the main reason I went with this app is because it had that feature, I’ve been trying, quite unsuccessfully, to see if that feature is still in play. So far, Reddit comments, and an email to the developer have gone unanswered.Edit 2: the feature lives!

Hello. The VO2 Max Protection option has been moved into the app’s Settings under Apple Health integrations.
Way too many issues with current version
Fencepost23
Been using this app daily for approximately 6 months. Was nearly perfect with the exception of a few small issues prior to the redesigned interface released a few weeks ago. I am starting / stopping workouts from my Apple Watch. About 50% of the time after I end my workout on my watch, when I go to the app on my iPhone, it’s missing data from the workout. When I open the app, I get a message that says “workout imported from Apple Fitness.” When that happens, no data comes in for elevation, steps, ruck weight, ruck power, and ruck work (all are 0). Also, during my workout, I keep an eye on elevation gain. Approximately 20% of the time, elevation gain stays at zero for the entire workout or it stops recording during an active session. And the latest issue that just started 2 days ago is with total calories burned. Before I end my session, I check distance, calories, etc. Today, I burned over 800 calories during a 5.5 mile ruck according to the watch app. When I ended the workout, it recorded 342 total calories. Same situation yesterday. Finally, please make the fonts bigger for current pace and average pace. My old eyes can’t see font that small on my watch. I have sent emails to their support team for most of these issues over the past few weeks and haven’t heard back from them.
Functional again!!
Nunayobidniz
Update that disabled most Apple Watch functionality has been superseded and it appears to be working again. Two minor issues. One may be my watch, but the workout progress in the watch has reverted to tiny fonts. It’s hard to read while moving. Needs more investigation by me. Also, when starting a workout on the phone, the title of the workout should be shown somewhere on the screen. Little things, but could be improved. I also like creating workout templates on the phone and syncing them to the watch.
Developer Response
I’m sorry about the issues with the recent update. A subsequent update has improved the ability to edit activity settings, including ruck weight. If you try it again, you’ll see an improved experience along with several general bug fixes.
Glitches
Annyd Cstmr
I’ve had issues with the app not working on my iWatch. I have to use the app from my phone and today I lost a 3 mile 15# weighted vest walk calculation because the app glitched trying to connect to my watch right after I started my walk. I didn’t check th app on my phone until I was 38 minutes into my walk and saw there was nothing recording and my watch app was cycling through a count down continuously. Seriously frustrating. I want to be able to start my ruck on my watch and track my progress but I have to pull my phone out every time and open the app instead and now, that’s glitching too. Lost all progress because I deleted the app to reinstall it to see if it starts working properly again..
Major reliability fixes for workout saving. Rucks now save dependably with or without Apple Health, and any save that gets interrupted is recovered the next time you open the app.
