TukiDon is a photography planner that shows the "when and where" of a shoot at a glance: the direction and timing of the sun and moon, the weather, and the moon phase.
Capture a full moon or sunset, never miss the magic or golden hour, or catch the moment a plane crosses the moon—known in Japan as "TukiDon." This one app supports your whole plan. Great for checking sunlight at a travel spot, too.
Key Features
■ Real-time sun & moon on the map
Scroll the timeline and the sun and moon positions and directions update for the chosen date and time. Hourly and minute-by-minute direction and altitude show exactly when light hits the front ("front light") or back ("backlight") of your subject.
■ Color-coded magic & golden hour
Golden hour, blue hour, nautical and astronomical twilight are shown in distinct colors, alongside sunrise and sunset times—so you can plan the exact shot you want.
■ Moon-phase calendar
See the moon's phase and age, and never miss a full, new or crescent moon. Tap a date to load it on the timeline and view that day's sun and moon positions.
■ "TukiDon" spot finder
The moment a plane overlaps the moon is called "TukiDon." Import a CSV from apps like Flightradar24 to overlay flight routes with the moon. The app calculates the best shooting point from route, altitude and moon position and marks recommended spots. Overlay the sun's direction to see front-light and backlight windows by day.
■ Weather for shooting
Check weather, temperature and feels-like for your shoot day: 24-hour weather, 10-day forecast, wind, UV index and precipitation probability—so you can prepare clothing and gear.
■ Photo review
View your photos' EXIF (camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed, ISO) and recreate the sun/moon direction and weather at the time of shooting. Create overlay images with EXIF, location, moon phase and weather to share on social media.
■ Location search
Search by place or facility name and move the marker with one tap to grasp the sun and moon directions anywhere.
■ Save favorite spots
Save frequent spots with names, group them, and review them all in one list.
